Not Jungle/DnB based but do you have any more like this anywhere?

I don’t I’m afraid - although I’ve been considering turning that into a series. Did you like it yeah?
That was actually quite a bit more engaging to organise and mix (on digital) than with the jungle and dnb. Massive variance in tempo - or indiscernible time signatures to have to navigate and create transitions with.
Steve Roach is the latest artists I discovered on that vibe:

By the way, if there a certain tracks or artists you like in the mix, I can put you onto a whole load of albums to checkout.

A couple for your 93 breakbeat mix surely 🙏

Yep. Although only have the Origin Unknown remix of Dark Stranger. Not sure whether to go all out dark or include stuff like these:

92-93 was such a good time for breaks as it was right on the hardcore-jungle crossover so play a bit of everything Easygroove style? I think it was only really Ratty and Tango playing exclusively darkside sets at the time. I'd never heard that criminal minds track before so thanks for that👍

I love that criminal minds track, so good.

Yeah, though I thought I hadn't heard it before but when the FUSE song came on with the THX 1138 sample I immediately needed to listen to UNKLE's 'I need something Stronger' and then remembered I'd had the exact same reaction previously so assume I did listen to it at some point.
Imagine it could be pretty tricky to mix mind.
One that I have found myself always looking up when featured is PFM, I think every song of theirs that you've included I've ended up checking the tracklist to find the name. Is there any reccomendations to check out or is it just a case of delving back into the Good Looking Records catalogue again?

Yeah, check out Good Looking and the sub label Looking Good from 95-96. Logical Progression 1 and 2 compilations (which came out then), as well as the earlier editions of the Points in Time comps (which came out later) are a good place to start, and Earth: https://www.discogs.com/release/23946-LTJ-Bukem-Earth-Volume-One
Another Good Looking sublabel that is later and rare, expensive and hard to find is Ascendant Grooves - loads of good stuff on there: https://www.discogs.com/label/980-Ascendant-Grooves
Precious Materials (Basement sub label) is a great one to look into.
I think you would like early Source Direct tracks, before they went super dark. Like these:

https://www.discogs.com/release/843-Source-Direct-Approach-Identify-ModemYou'll probably dig the Promised Land compilations, and these:

Hey, really enjoyed this mix man. I've listened to it partially 3 or 4 times now but only just made it to the end. Nice tunes.

YouTube algorithm steadily working it's magic, had this documentary pop up
Haven't had a chance to watch the whole thing, got to 5:50 where Shy FX and Gunsmoke were making tunes on a "lazy Sunday afternoon", so far so good!

That’s a great one. Don’t think I’ve seen the whole thing like that before. Just clips. Proper at-the-time-and-place business.

Great to hear it! More soon come.
This came today 😮 been on my wants list since I heard it at AWOL about 15 years ago and ran over to the DJ booth and shouted up at GQ to please find out what it was 😆
This timeless classic popped into my head as I was tidying up and had to come upstairs and slap it on.

It is so nice to get a physical record that means so much/you have been lusting over for so many years.
The internet has been great for me to identify tracks that I knew intimately from the early 90's but had absolutely no idea what they were called or who they were by. I have bought so many 12"s in the last few years that I never dreamed I would own because they were so obscure.

This is a nice release:

It's great. In the early days I didn't even consider that I'd find out what a lot of the tunes were, let alone be able to get hold of them. Forums like DOA and RDB (RIP) were amazingly useful at getting IDs back then - and Discogs is good now: https://www.discogs.com/group/103 - just a recent example here, which I needed to persist with for a couple of years: https://www.discogs.com/group/thread/1001780
Platinum Breakz and the AWOL LP will always be massive moments in building my collection (thank you eBay and Auction Sniper lol).
Since Covid I'd been going for quantity with DNB - there was so much Neuro funk that I was able to pick up relatively cheaply. Plus ticked off lots of LPs like Wormhole, Clockwork, Metalheadz tin, V Classics, Planet V, Promised Land 2+3.
At the moment I'm concentrating on gradually ticking off some of those long term but high investment ones like the Keen Nottingham. Some of that is due to space. My shelves are full and I've got two bags of overspill stuff that I might get rid of, although I'm pretty reluctant to sell anything if I can help it.
There are two massive ones - Black Rushin Remix and Positive Chaos - that I'm almost a bit scared to eventually get for fear of a 'what now?' feeling.

You getting? I think I've got most of what's on those. The selections seem very eclectic, which is a good thing.

• #1548
Tempted but not this month, I have already blown my record buying budget (and I think it may be bandcamp Friday as I am getting constant release alerts. Must be strong......). Arghhhh!!

• #1549
I've got volume 2 of that series on order, couldn't quite justify volume 1.

the most listened to cassette in the car back in the day, what a set
that noise at 54:25 still send shivers down my spine
and that track playing at 50:00 nice acid feel to it
Wicked! I have two copies of the original as one was sold to me as the remix 😡
Very glad to get it in the collection - the Aliens sample gets me every time 🤘
