"Old skool hooligans bikes" anyone know anything?

A friend of mine found this on gumtree, and asked whether they are ok or not ... He's not looking for a fixed or anything, but i cant tell from the website specifications and the price what the hell we're looking at here... first reaction was panic, what are the alloy rims? who is this "worlds biggest manufacturer" ect.

has anyone heard of them?

saw a lots of them in Shoreditch, seemed to be better than an unipack.

they look horrible and cheap in real life..

but defintely look better than an unipack, if it doesn't fall apart the moment you ride it and/or part breaking (like chain), then it's a fantastic bike just to get people riding.

Someone i know has just got one of them, haven't seen it yet but will post here if it Unikacks it.

Looks ok to me, the general gist of it is pretty nice! It's probably not the best thing on two wheel but for the money...

There's one parked in front of ABN Amro at Spitalfields all the time. Haven't looked close, but from afar I'm not a fan.

yeah ive seen a guy on of those cruising around. They don't look too bad actually, very stylish. But close up they look like plastic.

Ah yes, coaster brake with optional front brake.

Surely this is just an obvious attempt at making money from the fixed/ss "scene", with a cheaply made bike for uneducated newbies.

Take £120 into halfords and you can get a hybrid with 18 gears, 2 brakes and it won't weigh 15kg.

I don't know, for starter they're based in Leyton, as oppose to being in some Taiwanese factory selling them to people who will sell it on a market day, and they appear to be quite optimistic about their bike;

well, the shop that sells them happens to be in leyton, just like the blokes on ebay who sell unipacks are based in england.

The site says "He created his ideal bike in collaboration with one of the worlds biggest bike manufacturers." To me that screams taiwanese factory that are selling to people who will sell it on a market (ebay for example) or a 2 bob website.

It comes in one size and one colour (bright orange no less), why are you defending it?

my mate have one, so far it hasn't broke down, chain snapped, etc. for 5 weeks, so here's hoping that it's durable enough for a day to day bike.

Spoken to a girl who own on in Bloomsbury about it - she said her chain broke after riding for a few weeks, and got it replaced at a bike shop.

just so you know, as not everyone complain directly to you when they just went to the other way by getting it replaced at a bike shop, worth finding alternative chain that doesn't break so easily (and she was more of a casual rider).

it's just my bike only has one gear so I need to make that clear - in no way is it a machine for abusing at speed around town.
