  • i'm gunna come up for the tournament and crash at a mates house.

    I'm thinking the same.

    Anyone have eggpie's number?

  • So what's the plan, there and back on the same day?

  • think i'd prefer there and back same day, am checking train times

  • out > take the 10:21 am train (arrives 11:19)
back > 8:31pm train (arrives back in london at 9:28)

    £4 each way!

  • 11:19 seems the perfect time to arrive for the tourney.

    ;)

  • from first post...

    "12(noon) start"

  • there is a £4 09:21 train

  • Think me and Ali are at some family do that day gutted.....will check with her later when she's back.

  • im assuming cowely parks on/near cowely and cowely road but if it is then it'll take us a good half hour/40mins for faffing around and making sure we know where we're going and then cycling there so dave's suggestion may be the better one if we wanna have a chance to take it easy...i'm good for either 9.21 or 10.21

  • I'll come find you lot at the train station and take you there.
    how boot that, eh?

not taht oxford is big or difficuly to find. I just feel like watching some polo.
and it'll be a good excuse for a break from the library.

  • Think me and Ali are at some family do that day gutted.....will check with her later when she's back.

    oh no!

I still want to go though.

..and I would prefer the earlier 9.21am train and the 8.31pm return same day.

  • If i do not go to the Paris tourney then Oxford it is!

    They have croissants there right!?

  • Henry what is your opinion as the local is 11.20 calling it close? which train should we get...

  • it won't be more than a 25minute ride taking it slowly.
it depends how rushed/ if you need to do something like get food + drink before heading up that way.

  • i'm well in for this, there and back the same day sounds good if i can get uber-cheap student tickets..

  • The Manchester tournament was schedule for 12, but went back to 10.30 / 11 am start when they figured out how long it would take with the amount of teams that showed up.

  • I will prefer wake up early and get there with time to play some throw-ins before the tourney stars

  • I will prefer wake up early and get there with time to play some throw-ins before the tourney stars

rik does have a good point...

  • Good to hear people are making plans for this. We're starting at 12 so people have time to make it from wherever they are travelling. That should give us 8+ hrs of daylight to finish!

There is a small ish basketball court with mid height sides which we'll use for the tournament. Because it's fairly short we'll probably be using the built in goals instead of cones. There is also a set of old tennis courts next door with a decent surface to mess around on.

  • Just sent an email to register. Team Harry, Mark, and Jon are in.

We were thinking of calling ourselves The Zombie RMY, but that didn't work out so well for Jon, Matt, and me at the throwin tournament yesterday.. So name to Follow ;)

  • OK me and Ali could make it to Oxford but don't suppose anyone is driving and could take my bike in the car and bring it back??? I could take it apart to make smaller if needed. Only because i finish work that morning in Cambridge and i can't take it with me as i'll have my motorbike. Ali can't take 2 bikes on the train cause she's a lazy slag....

  • fu@*%ng hell jsut turn my back for a few days and this went all mad

OK buses you can take the Oxford Tube or the Oxford Express
the one I normally do is the tube it takes an hour and a half if the traffic is decent.
I know it stops Victoria, Marble Arch (as does the Express), Notting Hill, and Shepherds Bush.
(I'dd google their relevant pages for exact stops).

Both these bus companies will only take two bikes at a time.
so plan out your trip so that you can all stack onto seperate buses
or grab one of those cheap big bags.
I know is a bit of a bitch to have to take wheel off but ...

If your on the bus you want to get off at St. Clements and just ride up the Cowley roadtakes two minutes we can send out collections parties no worries provided you come before 11:30ish.

  • I'm really chuffed so many people are into this by the way
    it's gonna be cool :)

On the court I'dd say its similar length to downham but slightly thinner
So it is going to be a tight game

  • Zoo, as I'll be prob taking an easy day that day, I'm more than willing to be collection boy to guide people to the court if that makes it easier for you?

and work is stopping me make it tonight as well, which is beginning to piss me off.

  • Zoe where abouts is this happening. Can't find March Cowley Park anywhere...
