Screw that frame think of your safety first

I have the exact same (unused) columbus fork and a spare front wheel. I also live by this guy but decided to pass. Knowing my luck, the frame is just waiting for the first person to ride it again before catastrophically failing right between the head and down tubes!

Don’t buy that there you go saved you

Anybody know where to find a fork with 28-30 rake full carbon for a parallax? Can’t find any at all with tapered steerer, not even with alu steerer
-
• #4382
I don’t think there is anything. Not that I’m aware of anyway.
A more conventional 35 rake will reduce trail and quicken the steering a little but probably not enough to worry about. It will however, give you plenty more choices of fork.... -
• #4383
Yeah seen some 35mm forks, you dont think it will make it bad ?
-
• #4384
I don’t know what size you have but if we take the medium with a 74.5° headtube, with the stock fork with 28mm rake you have a trail of roughly 65 which is quite high. If you swap to a 35 rake, your trail will go down to 58. Most road bikes are between 50 and 60 so I’m sure it’ll feel just fine. Slightly less toe overlap too.

Okey that spund quite allright, i have the XL and i think 75• headangle. Half of degree should not change things that much?
-
• #4386
Same difference, trail will drop from 62 to 55. Still within a sensible range. I’d be surprised if you don’t notice a little difference in steering but it won’t be life changing.

Okey, thanks. Might try it out

55mm LB wheels added to the Vig, get to test out at HHV tomorrow

Is it just me or does those handlebars make the bike look like it tried to get its eyebrows done and now it just has big chunky black things on its forward that you can't stop looking at?
No offence intended just needed to say it

Looks like it’s shrugging

• #4391
Nice! Do you have a photo of your brake lever/bar set up? I'm intrigued...
-
• #4392
Sure.. simple lever for taking on/off. Really like the flat top section for general riding and the drops are high enough for my back to cope for long efforts.
-
• #4393
Oh no, I can't stop thinking of these now..
-
• #4394
Hahaha excellent!
-
• #4395
Isn’t that lever like ... a really far away with bars like that?
-
• #4396
Push, don't pull.

Watched the RHC race someone posted in another thread and I was surprised to see how many riders had slammed steerers with flipped positive stems. I guess sponsorship bikes need to look more rad when photo'd next to craft beer tent.

Shorter head tube + shorter steerer = stiffer
-
• #4399
On the tops my index and middle finger can cover the lever, they are only 38cm wide bars

The question you should be asking is why the cable is on the other way round.
something magical about the paintjob in this picture
