silver rims, hubs, cranks and seat post with black stem, bars and saddle on a goblin-green mash. will the mashion police murder me in my sleep?

@nutsmewhut Y U NO TT?
Obv not aware of smaller frame size for TT.
Usually run a 56cm classic. Mash is 53. Would not want any tighter.
Would be a different setup with drops obvs.

@greenhell found on particular bars x2's can slip, even with even torque etc. X4's are better i reckon, tiny weight penalty, fit and forget.

thanks for the pro - tip, i think that's the way im going to go
-

Excellent choice of mixing silver and black - with a little difficult frame white&green paint scheme.
-
• #2457
silver stems just look all kinds of wrong... like gynecological equipment for a rhinoceros.
-
• #2458
good one
-
• #2459
Are you sure you need such a short stem with risers? Did you get the frame from Elra? If so its my old one, can i have dibs if you ever sell it?
-
• #2460
ha! it is indeed, he mentioned that he bought it off you. it's a lovely piece of kit, thanks for selling it to him - that guy has some very nice bikes.
he warned me about the short stem but i'm going to give it a whirl - if it doesn't work out there's always wiggle's very accommodating return policy.

That mash has hardly any reach for its size, you had a test ride of it yet?
-
• #2462
nope. i'll try it, if it doesn't work, i'll try something else.

So I guess this is the best place to put this.
After a crash in summer taking my aero fort out of commission I've procured a Mash HP from PX.Question is, do you reckon it's worth swapping out the Columbus compass headset for a Chris King one?
I actually can't find an example of a Mash fitted with one on Google.
The stock headset isn't fitted yet.Side note: Does anyone want a damaged Fort Aero Track?

• #2464
Is internal no? Don't really see point. Columbus all good.
-
• #2465
there isn't a ck one that'll fit it iirc
-
• #2466
Yeah yeah it is. Looks nice on frame, just gave a bit of a spin with my fingers and they seemed a little stiff. But to be fair I'be never had an unused headset before.
Might just do my first build up thread once my dissertation is handed in.
Priorities...@okay123 yeah I did think that, hadn't looked it up properly as it was a passing thought

Repost from current projects. Perfect bike for my poser-use.

Columbus headset is fine, I've been using mine for about 3 years now without servicing and it's still smooth.

• #2469
all integrated headsets are basically the same

i really need to get round to putting mine together. i am terrified of screwing a BB into alu. i WILL fuck it.
Ugly as hell though, buy a smaller frame.
