Yeah, there haven't even been throw-ins at the new court, so it can't jump the queue - Newington hasn't hosted one yet!
Downham or Newington for this one. -

I don't see any reason why we shouldn't do it at this spot. It looks nice, and in any case, Mike and I will be down there nice and early, so if there's some sort of problem with it, we'll know early and then we can simply move to Downham.
Or we could do slackers there on Friday.
11am St Pauls?

Bill, that's the place.
Downham or Newington(souths), Either/or really.
Downham- spectating

Newington

- we would need to board up the open goals and entrance area

Have we decided where this is going to be? The new court looks good, but if we haven't played on it yet, we do not know how busy it gets? It would be horrible to start the tourney there and have to move when loads of kids rock up and want to play football.
Downham would be a safer option and the best for spectators too.
when i spotted it few weekends ago, the place was empty on a saturday.
it has a lovely atmosphere that wouldn't suit rappers, much more a polo scene.
although there was a dog fight going on. but they were polite enough to move along when we turned up with our picknick.

That looks like a great court for playing, watching and dicking around on those banks (obvs not when polo is being played).

i'd prefer downham for the tourney although i'm keen to check out the new court.
Also agree it shouldn't be called 'newington', it's only going to lead to problems.

If it isn't clear from the posts above - anyone and everyone is welcome to participate in the tournament. Most of us have spare mallets, and will be happy to lend them out to newbies. The teams are randomly drawn, so you could end up on a team with one member of BAD and one member of MALICE!
All you need is a bike, and a willingness to try new things!

Fuck. I never thought about that...
I may give this a pass.
