same as... ? I'm going to switch to 42-17 at some point though, want something just moderately less spinny, I figure that'll be the perfect ratio for me. Although having quite a spinny gear has really helped me improve my crank timing for tricks because you have to be much quicker!
Sorry I meant I am running the same as you, like you say though does feel a bit spinny at times

There's not a lot of difference between 44-18 and 42-17. The only real difference (other than the 0.7 GI change) is the fact that you get a lot more skid patches. Not really worth putting any money into it if you already have a pretty decent set up with decent parts.
I'm running 44-18 as well and I'm finding it pretty good. It's a little spinny once you get going but it's good for getting off the lights and good for wheelies etc.

48/18 - 2,666
I am thinking of changing to 39/16 (2,43)
Not sure if i would like it after riding 48/18 so long.
Maybe 39/15 (2,6) then...Why 39? I have a wtp 5 Star Deluxe Fat Sprocket to lie about. Undestroyable. Thinking about fat chain (1/2*3/16) and Sprocket / Pedal grinds.
BMX Crank needed
and when i slow down the bike i have to build another fast bike for regular riding.
$$$
so i stay on 48/18 for a while, acclimatization will be done. more wheelie power will come. i hope. -

Very nice, the frame it came off is pretty sexy to, dropouts and chainstays remind of a steamroller quite a lot.

finally built up my 48H profile to velocity dyads last night. easiest wheelbuild ever, zero movement and zero tweaking. really nice to ride.

Looks really similar to the chukka, stronger or the same or...?
-
• #119
24mm wide, but lower profile than chukka, which is the same height as deep v. think that is OTT and also ridiculously heavy.
