  • Ah yes, I saw that, the shoeprint on Macrons face made me laugh. (Only talking about Instagram here as I don't have F******k or any other popular social media accounts)
I clicked the translate function on IG and didn't see anything too bad but that could be down to a bad translation.

  • Didn't realise the card started early today 😅 might not catch the main event.

  • Lol +1 here.

Main card starts at 8, might give it a watch.

  • Hope McGregor gets beat, him and his fans are so annoying.

  • That’s on the 24th.

I liked Conor from before he became a total tod wallet, and he’s a highly entertaining fighter. Out of cage antics and nut hugging fans aside, I’d like to see him win because it’s usually a fair spectacle.

If he loses to Poirier, it feels like whatever spark he had that made him so entertaining in the ring (skills and techniques wise that is), may well have gone out. And my already diminishing interest will probably go with it.

Khabib has met with Dana White yesterday. Apparently there’s an announcement coming today.

  • I think Conor probably has it still, but maybe not so much of a different fighter since the last time he fought Poirier.
Poirier has improved through his fights since, and I'd love to see him get the finish.

    Dana's announcement was pants.

  • Realised that after I wrote that, holloway tonight.

I think he was great at the start but the shine sorta wore off after all the antics he done, holding up divisions, shouting about being the best and the retiring 17 times.

I think he's lost the sparkle he once had and although Dana has gave it the big he's the old conor, he's just a total tool imo now. Saying that he'll probs win next week and I hope if khabib comes back that he fights him and gets smashed again.

  • Gotta love watching Max fight, absolutely breathless.

  • What is the best/cheapest way to watch UFC in the UK?

  • You have to get bt sport in the UK

  • Best/cheapest BT sport/dodgy stream

  • That was tough to watch at the end, the punishment Kattar took was ridiculous I know he's got incredible power so he always had a chance but his corner should have thrown the towel, he took a life changing beating in there.

  • Max Holloway though, man, so good

  • Oh, but if you're not fussed about watching live then 'fight pass' is the best option. It's 6.99 a month and you have access to everything I think even ppv's are available 48hrs after.

  • Unbelievable, about as close to computer game fighting as it's possible to get. How he can do that for 5 rounds is mind blowing.

  • 💥

Kavanagh (Conors coach) has said in an interview that he's been training mostly orthodox.

  • Also interested to see what happens in the Hooker Chandler fight

So, jeez, Dustin got it done. Deffo impressive. Interesting to see that Conor couldn't capitalise on his big shots like he used to, seemed like he landed a couple but Dustin weathered that storm, didn't seem to cower down too much and stayed active.
The final sequence was a bit mad tbh, landing and then instantly laying it on, almost seemed like McGregor was too relaxed.

  • McGregor took some good punches and seemed to be okay.
    Then he just fell back.
Hard to tell if it was one good punch that finished him off or if there was a delayed reaction to the flurry moments earlier.

  • Yeah it was a mad sequence to watch. Kinda went into slow motion as Dustin sped up.

He just didn’t seem sharp enough.

  • not the result I was expecting

  • He just didn’t seem sharp enough.

Agreed. Also that right calf must have been taking a lot of mental energy to push through. It was starting to go purple at the end of the fight. The right-left to the jaw at the start of the flurry looked like it dimmed the lights on McGregor, and his right leg might have been too beat up to let him stabilise and avoid what happened next. Wrought iron chins on both of them, phew.

Did anyone else lose interest in CM years ago when he brought a lot of toxicity into the sport? I understand why he did it, and I think it was a shrewd move that paid off massively for him, but at the cost of creating a whole mess of wannabe mcgregor assholes outside the ring, IME ymmv.

  • Impressed with Tavares the other day as well, takedown defence was on point
