  • Son's reaction to 'Empire Strikes Back' reveal!!!! - YouTube

    fake

As if kids would give a crap about that film. You'd struggle to get them to sit through the first few scenes without laughing at the effects or becoming distracted out of boredom.

Bring on the Wiggles Movie 3D!

  • the wiggles are in 3d?!?!?!?!?!??!

  • this is probably a massive pea, but i've only just seen it.

i loved it when i saw it at age, still do. sure the effects aren't amazing in some scenes but its set in space a long time ago. suspend your disbelief

  • Can someone edumacate me please.... I found something like telitubbies thing about hot Patato and cold spaghetti on YouTube

  • I love those 3D projections... Check out this one from AntiVJ.

It's worth looking at the whole website. I saw the Eyjafjallajokull one at OneDotZero last year, it was fascinating!

  • This is fucking awesome

I've been listening to the album this week. It's actually not bad. Some of the lyrics cut through more than they do in the originals.

  • No offence to any photographers on here who are struggling but isn't it a little bit like the postman complaining that email is free?

Digital cameras and photoshop have created a whole number of "good enough" alternatives to paying a full whack for a seasoned experienced professional.

Given that photography, along with most other industries, will suffer the ebbs and flows of supply/demand, the excess supply from the "good enoughs" is destroying the value of the professionals, no?

  • no not at all, its like the postman complaining that people are asking to deliver post for free. if you want to hire a photographer its because 'good enough' won't do, hence why you want a professional. IMO the problem comes about when people think they could do it themselves and so don't think its fair for a professional photographer to charge for something they think they could do. how ever being a professional photographer isn't just owning a nice camera you still need actual talent.

  • OK I admit asking for free is extreme but asking for a significant discount from say the pre-DSC age seems fair to me.

I totally agree that there is talent involved but the value of that talent seems radically diminished by the improvement and the accessibility of (sometimes) good enough alternatives such as a friend with a DSC and PS.

A letter is different from an email in so many ways, but often it is "good enough" and competing with free is tough, that's all.

  • **note to self **
If i ever have plastic surgery ask the surgeon for a significant discount as I have used a knife to cut meat up before, seems fair in this post electric caving knife age

  • I am not trying to pick a fight.
I am just saying that technology has changed the value of SOME things.

    • email
    • digital photos
    • blogging
    • music albums
    • printed media

Some OTHER things haven't significantly changed in value owing to technological innovation and surgery probably fits under this umbrella.

  • Photographers are ten a penny.

  • Add graphic designers to that list.
