German guy touring round BC on his radon carbon full sus fucks it and comes across random Canadian YouTube engineer who is able to fix the bike and frame in his home workshop.
I like this guys videos but this is a win for the save as well as giving up his time to help a random stranger
Same guy has a go at inventing his own north shore obstacles

A bonus win: The company responded in the comments to thank him and say they've changed that pin from aluminium to steel now.

Stopped a Macdonalds opening in Crystal Palace triangle. Really happy. I and many other people wrote long and detailed objections and it has paid off.

FYI the same thing happened down the road from me and they just kept appealing until it got permission. Nearly built now and it’s a fucking eyesore. It’s also in an already really congested road and pretty near a primary school :-/

What are the reasons people have to objecting to a Mcdonalds?
I gather the proximity to school thing is a big reason now days although most of the kids in our area get £1 fried chicken instead.
I'm interested because a friend of mine owns two McDonald's franchises and his planning applications actually received community support, on the basis of job creation for young people and somewhere safe for people to hang out. They are not in London though.

With that one, it was going to be a 24hr, takeaway only McDonalds which would have affected the nearby residents and brought a shit load more Uber eats mopeds into the picture. Also, the line of properties it sits in are owned by the same owner, who has doubled rents in recent years, forcing the cafe that used to be in that spot to close. A cafe that gave funds various charities that support vulnerable women.

I only really have specific objections to the one near me (This is bristol, fwiw), rather than being against all potential McDonald’s franchises.
It’s a road that is already inadequate for the level of traffic, which will now get worse with a drive through maccy ds on it. It’a close to an area with some great, independent places to get (much healthier) food, who will suffer. There has been a large campaign to keep them out and they were initially rejected. They basically steamrollered their way through - they were always going to build one there, clearly. -

Just go and report yourself to the golf club thread already.

I hadn't considered how much the impact on traffic would be. I'm amazed at home many people use Uber Eats for McDonalds in our area.

On which policies is the refusal based? If it's not based on policy, you're on thin ice, as they will appeal, and they will win.
You'll need to explain that a little more. How does a forum name equal having a knob with a face on it?
