Such a fucking dude.

That's awesome.

The sheer look of enjoyment of being on a bike. His mates look well chuffed for him as well.

If I wasn't such a hard bastard I might have cried at that.

I remember reading a blog post by Ashton where he said how none of the other activities he tried were filling the void left by bikes. So happy for him that he's found a way of getting back on the bike.

That made me well up pretty bad....

Without wanting to take anything away from what Ashton has achieved since his injury, I've watched a couple of his vids and each time I can't help but think that there must be thousands of people out there with similar spinal injuries that aren't afforded such great opportunities and that puts a bit of a downer on it for me.
-

The great opportunities come from the fact he put so much into the sport before it happened and now it's giving back, hopefully it'll also inspire others with similar injuries to try similar things and push technology to help them.

This. Nobody is going to put money into it unless they see how fucking cool and inspiring it can be. I would like to think he understands his position of privilege and hope that others see this and want to make the same happen for more people. It certainly sounds less exclusive than sit-skiing and that's a thing that happens.

Yes, that is a win indeed. Epic dude.

At first I thought....
...Yeah Ashton will help develope the kit at its pricey proto stage. Then it will be more readily availible for paralysed users in the future.
But then I thought....
...Who the fuck else would throw themselves Down a mountain strapped to a bike they can only Control With their hands. Epic skills, and epic balls.
I was scared just watching that.

This obsession with porteur-style racks is getting a bit silly.
