would happily stay there in wet socks. I'm sure he has a bivvy bag, and in summer the nights are short.

I recon it would totally depend on the weather. On a good day it would be great, but the hours of daylight would be very limited and you wouldn't want to be up there in the dark. The rock is lovely and grippy, so where you do have to scramble you feel pretty safe. The downside of the rock is that its as abrasive as fuck, I wore through a really good pair of gloves by the time we got back to the bottom.
There are parts of the ridge where you need some basic climbing skills. I went up to the top of Scurr nan Gillean with a mate, and we needed to abseil a little way to find a path back down. I wouldn't go up there by myself, but if you head to the Sligachan hotel it has a really good bunkhouse and campsite and you can probably find a group going up who wouldn't mind an extra body tagging along. -

He didn't bring it far enough up the beach, the tide would have taken it before anyone else would have.

Assuming there will be snow on the ridge by then it's a major undertaking in winter conditions.
