I really will shut up soon. We do pretty much agree I am sure.
I'm sure we do agree on the fundamental principle that equality is good, but you have basically remained entrenched in your "common sense" position of feminism = equality (absolutely and completely equivalent) and therefore anyone who isn't a feminist (and by implication anyone who denies being a feminist because they don't subscribe to your definition) is a fucktard scumbag.
But despite not calling myself [a feminist], and not wanting to be called one I believe in equality of women therefore I am one. ** I am a feminist, as is every single decent person on this planet**, just not in the same way that women who are actively fighting the fight day in day out are, and not in such a way that I feel it right to go around proclaiming that I am.
^ like that. Textbook question begging. The weird thing is that you already accept that there are different types of feminist (active, implicit etc.) and you also point out that equality for women necessarily implies equality for men (since you can't have one group being more equal than the other). So why not just use "egalitarian" to describe everyone who subscribes to the principle of equality and "feminist" to describe that those who believe that improving women's rights is the most important thing to do right now to achieve that equality (and more specifically those that are actively engaged in that struggle)? That way you don't risk alienating people by trying to hijack their support for a broad principle (equality) as support for a specific movement (feminism).
Anyway, I'm repeating myself here so I'm going to knock this on the head and let this thread get back to the win.

Didn't I win feminism for myself a page or so back? shtap

I'm sorry but (especially) women who say 'I am not a feminist' are nuts. Yes you have every right not to wish to be associated with a movement, in which case you should say 'there are many aspects of the feminist movement that I dislike, and I do not want to be associated with it
Yeah, you tell those daft women what to think, you know best. Bloody women, eh?

I really don't get what is so controversial about this.
Nothing is that controversial, it's just your circular arguments and constant need to be right and get the last word.
I might see if I can start an argument between you and beagle and take bets on what year it will end or if we'll run out of internet first. -

Is the fact this discussion is taking place here an epic win for thread content equality?
As in 'adding a bit of Epic Fail to the Epic Win thread'?
I concur.

I'd love to take credit, but I find it as tedious as everyone else.
On the bright side, I'm on the train for the next hour, so plenty of Internet rumbling time.
I'll start.

Whatever. Just because something is not epic fail it does not make it epic win. However anyyhing that's not epic win is definitely epic fail.
FACT.
imho.
Which makes everyone who is not me or you or anyone else evil scum.
