Unless I'm missing something, that photographer bloke should go in Epic Fail. All time he's been farting around in his basement with epoxy and his tripod he could have actually gone to those places, seen them with his eyes and taken better photos.

It's all about synthetic mockery. That's what he's doing. It would defeat the object for him to venture outside. It's skillful but ultimately - I think - boring. Once you get past the semi uncanny sense that what you are viewing is fabrication and the thrill of appreciating that is gone, you are not left with much else. If I could begin to believe that the sterile, uber perfect nature of the dioramas was somehow a commentary on alternative realities etc I might find it interesting, but I'm pretty sure he's not attempting to take it there.

Just a damn fine set builder / model maker.
