papa44, pit stops are a very good idea to teach beginner cyclists a bit about basic bike maintenance. Many ride around with dirty chains and low tyre pressure and this often leads to them abandoning cycling again when the bike fails. It's a very useful step down from a full Dr Bike, which can take a while. We (Hackney Cyclists and LB Hackney) have done these around Hackney for a while and they've been very successful. Don't knock it till you try it.

Thanks - I did read it.
I don't think there's anything wrong with this idea - though it's not terribly practical.
Have you never seen the Dr Bike sessions? Always rammed with people and that seems to be pretty much the same thing. With a cup of tea.
