St Helens just by Bembridge Harbour is where our deluxe van is, you fancy heading over and working the arcades, maybe a cheap double then wait for the entertainment.. Me and Cornie are maning up as Red coats and doing a Crankies tribute.. it will be worth the entry fee.

What GI would those doing fixed recommend for this? Currently rocking 75 and furthest I've done was a fairly laid back 40 mi.

i have 47/19 spinny but nice. did cambersands with 46/19

If I can get up the hills on the isle of purbeck on 70 GI, I think it will be about right. Then again I can freewheel.

You'll be Ok for 66% of the ride.

DOn't let me put you off, but please don't go to the island with the impression that it is flat.

and a lot of the hills have some nice roll ins too which with a bit of speed will get you a fair way up.

all good, prepared to try and keep it flowing as much as poss, met a guy on a similar ride last week who was taking his charge plug to the Alps? --the Alps? now that is game
