  • long story but the pipes outside my flat are leaking, it don t even need a ladder, although I have one, and where the shower pipe comes out the wall is leaking too, Ill PM you....
    Cheers
    H

  • Is it the overflow?

  • Thanks folks....

  • The Cazenove Area tradespeople listing is pretty good for this (and other) queries:

    http://www.clubplan.org/CMS/page.asp?org=1517&name=TradesMen

  • £60 per hour and I'll pop over cheap at half the price.............. ;o))))

  • Dont use an eastern european plumber/

  • as I need a decent discount on a gas fired boiler, Vaillant ECO Tec Plus 624 System Boiler with standard flue.

also a SpiroTech Spirovent Air and Dirt remover.

Theres £50 in your hand for a decent discount.

  • don't forget the government boiler scrappage scheme
they are offering cash for people buying new boilers / replacing old old ones
might be worth a couple of hundred to you

similar to the car scrappage scheme they were doing in 2009

  • surely if you are in the trade, and qualified to fit gas boilers then you must already have trade accounts with plumbers merchants?

  • @ dicki cheers for the heads but I already have the voucher but just need a decent price on the boiler. The cheapest I can get it for with the flue is £960 from a merchants, don't fancy the internet for this.

@ RPM I am supplying the boiler my plumber is fitting it and doing the gas cert and other bits and pieces but it seems I can get the boiler cheaper then him. I just want to save some extra so I can spend it on some other bits and pieces as this is costing me about £2k

    I'm just tight ;p and unemployed ;p ;p

  • depending on where you are based, Mirage plumbing & heating in tooting were the cheapest and best suppliers I ever had (was in the trade) across the board, better than the biguns that we had trade accounts with

  • Cheers I will give them a call. The one I was going to use was Gas World in Acton

    • I have to say, if this is important then wtf are you buying a Vaillant boiler!?

your plumber insists on fitting it?

they are trash, he'll be forever coming back replacing failed parts

  • this thread is really heating up

£993 My plumber has been fitting them for years without a problem you just need to clean out the system properly I am also fitting a spirovent so hopefully it picks the crud up. Comes with 2 year warranty and I'll just have it serviced annually by Vaillant.

I would go for a Weissman boiler but they are a tad more expensive.

What do you recommend Bosch, Worcester?

  • What do you recommend Bosch, Worcester?

Same company, Yes. They are quality.
Maybe Vaillant have sorted their act out, but I've only ever seen problems with them, we only fitted worcester bosch and potterton.

To be fair, I have been out of the game for a while now.

  • @ hael shame its not in Polish though ;p

@ RPM Yep they have sorted their act out as they had an issue with gaskets failing and the pressure vessel as well. Combi boilers are a pain but a system boiler should be less problematic.

  • i thought you usually go for old boilers :)

  • this thread will now plunge
