  • Totally forgot!! These beauties are available from Cavendish Cycles. They might be Nittos.

    Photo from inside Cavendish Cycles.

  • They are Nitto, especially when it have a red stripe saying it's made from alu near the clamp.

  • I only shop for Beth Ditto. I don't cheat. Sorry.

i guess we're never going to get a cold weather jacket list then are we?

  • Its possible jersey, but I won't be the creator of that one. I only list things I'm actually looking for.

  • Nice!
BTW this US site is a good source for pics.

If you want max water proofing, and if you can afford it, buy the Gore Oxygen.

If you want something flexi, comfy, and warm (but not so waterproof), buy the Giordana BodyClone. (I have one, its toasty warm).

For waterproofs on a budget, both DHB and lusso are good.

IMHO the best textile for waterproof/breathability balance is Event. As such I'm looking at getting one of these for wet weather running/cycling.

Sorry to hijack, but I've been looking into this over the last week, as my favourate lightweight running/cycling jacket is starting to fall apart :(

  • Can you extend the list to all track* suitable *bars?

That includes road style drops, as that's what 99% of endurance (ie: non sprint event) and general track riders use.

You may also want to include UCI legal pursuit bars:

  • @Smallfurry, instead of posting jacket recommendations in a handlebar thread, why not either help jersey start a Jackets List thread, or you do one? Just a thought like.

  • Can you extend the list to all track* suitable *bars?

Sorry RPM. There's only one rule for the lists I create, and that is it lists items I've been looking at, to compare for something I want to buy. I just share the information, and sometimes expand it if I think its interesting. I've done the Track Handlebars, and Curved Handlebars lists, so it will be someone else that does any other lists for other handlebars.

  • You know, there's a lot more choice with track bars now, than when I was looking for some new ones at the start of the season.

  • How about Cinelli Criterium?

  • If people mention them, and I can find them (links help), I will surely add them.

Also, I'll list currently produced items, as these are obviously the easiest to buy.

    EDIT:
Cinelli Criterium are NOS I believe.

    Yeah, sorry about that ;)

I did mean to mention that I have no time what so ever to do a list. I'd be willing to help out with one though.

(PS. forgot to mention Endura jackets. I own one of these aswell, good balance of price and performance)

    Ahem, yes track bars.
    Dedas velocita chrome

  • This appears to be mostly a list of bars with the word "track" or Pista in their title, plus. of course they do not have cable routing.

RPM is right, if you are thinking of buying bars for track riding you should choose a bar that gives you the position you require....a combination of reach, drop and width...being labeled a "track" bar will not magically give you this....so it's definitely worth taking a look at bars branded as "road"....and if you want to experiment with your position second hand ones are cheap.

All the bars in the pics above appear to be long reach, deep drop bars, which in reality are not that common amongst track riders, excepting sprinters.

Ha, I do find it funny when the manufacturers BS is translated, the French and particularly the Italians come out with some absolute guff:

The celebration of a true classic, Nothing less than the legend.

Get over it boys, it's a bit of overpriced bent metal.

Ah, but they look the best which is all that counts to some :-)

I don't get on with track drops and find them uncomfortable. Drop is too deep and there are no sides to hold onto due to the sloping shape. As you say, alright for sprinters when being used for a minute or two but for rides out on the road/longer than a few minutes they are not really the best bar for the job.

I use a compact road bar due to short torso/long legs and it is perfect, riding in the drops the majority of the time.

The bikes with the high saddles and low bars do look cool...on their own.

But as soon as you put a human on them who can't actually reach the hooks, therefore only ride in the centre of the tops and wiggle their way down the road coz the saddle is too high then they look utterly ridiculous!

  • The Charge Bowl look like they would put your hands in a nice position.

  • You have over-looked the Karbona Bastis Pro as used by me! Good bars 100 euros.

  • Karbona do generic carbon frames and parts, how did you get them, Dov?

  • A slight variation of what's already on your list, I bought some Nitto B125-AA 40cm bars from On-One/Planet-X last week, cost £51.38 which was the best price I could find at the time. Very nice they are too and excellent service from On-One.

it got a shallow drop too, so you can ride on the drop nearly all of the time.

  • ^ oh goody, people can get numb and uncomfortable from locking into one position, but in the drops this time.

I'll buy 3, if it comes in different colours.

  • .....people can get numb and uncomfortable from locking into one position.....

Are you actually referring to cycling, or something entirely more grin-worthy?

  • 'Grinworthy' sounds like the surname of a character in an Ealing Comedy.
