dude, i am running a dmr one @ the mo but i was really after a rennen rollenlizzle. IMO go with the rennen although my dmr has been alright for about 300 miles so far... what kind of bike do you need it for?

I never had no probs from the word go with the doofer, but that ECHO is some serious bike porn. I would consider changing to ECHO for no apparent reason, well other than its so so sexy looks :}

on-one other-doofer is a lot like the rollenlager, but cheaper!
I had one, it only fits if the dropout is flat-faced.

It gets better they're made for trials bikes so they are strong as hell, indestructable and cost only cost 49 dollars. -

I got the other doofer, the one that sounds like you still got a rear mech attached - bah! :( apart from the noise its great - cheap as chips too

The Soulcraft looks rather nice, actually.
The QR could be very handy.
Shimano Alfine, else.

my surly is cool, never had any problems with it, works with both sizes of chain and will push up (better) or pull down. Pushing up wraps more chain round the cog so it wears less (as more teeth are used).

• #13
I've had it for a few years now too

I have the paul's melvin and have had no issues at all. Money well spent.
-
• #15
I've only used a Surly and a bodged derailler. I think I actually prefer the derailler bodge. It's more Mad Max and loads cheaper.

Surly singulator is a great bit of kid

that`s rather a nice frame, but £350 odd is a bit dear for me... perhaps you could find a 'magic gear' with those lovely thin rear stays thus ruling out the need for a tensioner? Lord knows I am still trying to find that elusive magic gear for my current commute steed. good luck...

Ideally to work with a 1/8th chain, but I'll keep the poll agnostic.
