but - did anyone read my post about phoning for a number of kids etc.? also creme eggs will be a lot easier to deliver in big numbers...?
sorry, got this image of hundreds of kids across London, not sure how many we're talking about here. Would we need some kind of permission to get in there these days?

come on Gina... rudimentary..
Ah, gahdammit, that'll learn me to fix things without reading first!!

I'd love to do this, but wondered if someone should call up the hospitals and inquire as to whether the kids can have sweets. I'll bet that'd be fine at childrens' homes, though. I have time tomorrow if someone would like me to do it?

well I'm happy to phone round to ask how many kids they've got if jayloo is happy to phone round to ask if they're allowed chocolate.... ;)

Just as many as possible....would be nice to get to the smaller ones that get less attention....but the bigger ones have more children in.
The donations are hardly pouring in though, so looks like i'll be using some money from the sale of the storck to buy eggs. :) -

alright that will take a moment though ...

Happy to help on the Saturday delivering eggs. Given the nature of easter egg packaging it'd be difficult to carry the required numbers in our bags... so Phils suggestion for small eggs seems more practical or someone setting up a HQ and doing runs back and forth.
tbh i can't donate much in the way of money but would gladly help with everything else.

Carrying eggs is fine...if you bought loads of the cadburys chocolate button eggs for eggsample, they're not too big and they'll all have the same size box....you stack them into a bin bag then strap it to your messenger bag.
I could easy carry over 50 eggs in boxes on my back with my Grobag(tm) probably more.
The problem with cream eggs is that children don't always like the gooey middle...but EVERYONE loves choccy buttons! :) - Scott bunny

choccy buttons ftw! i've also seen cadburys eggs cheaper with no box packaging this year. might mean we can get more for the kiddies & fit more in a bag? but then again, may not be so good/sturdy for transportation...heh.

"Here ya go kids...you can't see your family this year, but have a broken egg" hehe
-
• #48
alright, alright. so boxes it is! or maybe you could fashion an egg box type insert for your grobag....haha. to be fair, cadbury's eggs are usually pretty thick, they might have been ok!

I'm trying hard to work out how to fit this ride in.
I have to catch a train to Taunton at some point that day. -

i think this the sweetest loveliest thing :) nice one scott for the idea. can't come cos i'm in wales.. gutted.. this'd be proper wicked fun :)
have you addressed the 'being allowed" thing? like pajamas sez ^ its not about whether the kids are allowed to have sweets, it's more about you seeing any children.. people in contact with vulnerable children have to be CRB checked.. so it'd be the best idea to arrange specific drops with specific people at the venues, rather than ad hoc visits to places, cos i'd hate to see you turned away..
also watch out for pork and beef gelatin in the sweets which also have cultural as well as dietary issues..
sorry.. dad mode over..
best of everything to you all, i really mean that,, you guyses are the best

patch
i was hoping for several places VB.
I said easter saturday originally so if people are happy with that it's fine by me.
