  • Anyone got any? looking to source one for my good lady.

Charge ladle could be ok but not heard anyone recommend it specifically. http://www.chargebikes.com/products/parts/detail.php?id=3

Or does the old Rolls work just as well for women?

Selle Italia Diva gelseems pretty decent too but the name/logo not quite suiting! http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=S5021

Im assuming i've not missed a definitive list of lists on ladies saddles ;-)

nice one , cheers - my search skills clearly need work!

  • Had difficulty finding it and I knew it existed.

Searched: lady, lady's, ladies, woman, women, saddle, seat ...

  • Not only for women, also for men this is a difficult issue. Very personal. You cannot tell without trying.

    What I've heard:

    • old, 1st version, Selle Italia Flite
    • San Marco Rolls
    • Fizik Vitesse
    • Selle Italia Lady Gel flow (with the roses design of course, if you have one, let me know!)
  • I had a ladle for a bit, all the girls that used it said it was comfy, got a wider bit for the old child bearing hip bones..

Long discussion about this recently on bikeradar. Good luck!

  • This is the thread i've been looking for. I may try the rolls as i'm set on white

  • One of the christmas presents for my girlfriend this year will be a bit of an overhaul of her bike.

Part of which includes a new Brooks saddle, mostly for aesthetics but it is very important that the saddle is comfortable.

She currently rides a Turbo which she finds uncomfortable but more comfortable than the Fizik Pave I originally put on the bike.

Part of the work I'm doing to the front end of the bike will take some pressure of the saddle as riding position will be more horizontal than vertical.

I was thinking the B17 S would probably be the most suitable saddle.

Seems like there's some positive posts about B17's on here, anyone got any bad experience of B17's?

I know saddles are a personal choice, but I'd guess some of the women on here would have a better idea than me.

  • I had one I didn't get along with, so I gave it to him. I dunno if that's a woman thing, though. Anyway the aesthetics are relevant - if she likes it that much she'll give it enough time to settle in, and then it will be comfortable. I was never enamoured of mine, really.

There is a woman-specific wide Brooks with springs (B67?), but it looks a bit Miss Jean Brodie.

Springs are awesome and I'd love to have an excuse to buy a B67, but unfortunately they don't belong on her bike:

I guess I'll give it a go, the saddle looks flatter than a turbo which is rounded at the top, and I'm guessing that keeps pressure on the sit bones... all guesses really but I know she'll love how it looks.

  • The missus

    B17 Ladeez

  • My Missus always complains about her "tail bone" hurting after long rides. She seems to be fine on short commuter runs though.

Any recomendations for a lady from the ladies?

  • Have a read of the ladies saddle thread http://www.lfgss.com/thread19250.html
Though maybe your lady need to try adjusting the saddle she's got rather than changing completely, it might be an angle/height thing
Personally I swear by Selle Italias Ladies Gel Flow (as do a few other ladies on here) Done thousands of miles on them.

  • Thanks for that clefty!

Looks nice and comfy that one, I can see how that could benifit a ladies derriere.

We've already experimented with heights and she seems to be happy now. Might try angling it up a bit and see how she gets on.

    cheers!

  • I'm going to try and get one of those Selle Italia Ladies Gel Flow saddles for Mal to try. At the moment her Langster has the stock Toupe type saddle (Alias?) in 143mm which was ok for me but possibly too hard and skinny for her. If anyone has a black Selle Italia Ladies Gel Flow and wants to part with it let me know.

  • Not the same I know, but just putting it out there, I've got a 155mm Specialized Jett D4W saddle for sale still, £12

  • ask edscoble

OMG I need another of those. Want to sell it?

  • Charlotte, I missed your post. I'll check yours out, is it the Alias that's the midway between Toupe and the really squishy one?

;) Sorry jen, Hippy has snagged it for Mal already

I couldn't handle it. It was far too short and if you're going for more horizontal riding position you'll want a longer saddle.

  • Ah, that would mean that it's squooshier than the Jett he's talking about, which still means I want the one she won't be using. Whee!

  • i have a b17 on my road bike not woomen specific and i love it, i have done 80 of miles on it without padded shorts and i had no consequences. it is too heavy though.
    fizik arione is awesome too

  • jayloo, Selle An-atomica might be your best bet, especially with the cut-out.

Better than a Brooks B17 IMHO.
