Do they still make non smart phones?
-
• #378
Yes, they are called 'feature phones'. Nokia still sell S40 phones, although they attempt to brand them as smartphones. Sony Ericsson still offer OSE based phones (their own proprietary software) and others do similar cheaper phones.

Thanks Andy. Just found article below, looks like Sony won't be making feature phones any more.

Can anyone recommend a dual sim smartphone ? There are a few options, and I would like to get one that has Android 4.0 or 4.1 installed on it. They are all unbranded / non big name options as far as I can see. There's one on Amazon called the Star mobile which has lots of decent reviews:
STAR N9770 - 5.08 inch MTK6577 1.2GHz dual core CPU android 4.0.4 ICE CREAM SANDWICH 3G smartphone dual sim 8MP camera WIFI GPS, new google play store and flash player supported, with flip case (black, white): Amazon.co.uk: ElectronicsThere's also a few on eBay, like this one:

Anyone know if O2 billing is in arrears or advance?
I gave the months notice on my contract on 11th Feb and have just had a text billing me for the usual amount. The actual bill date is the 5th, and I've got the feeling the fuckers have just billed me for 5th March - 5th April.

Nokia have done it again. Their new Lumia 1020 is the nuts!
Here are some samples, and blowups from within:

Is it wrong that I want one of these?
-
• #385
No. Nokia still make good feature phones (although the underlying software is showing it's age).
-
• #386
I am definitely gonna get that. Ticks every box for me. The budget nokia I have at the moment is all good except the camera is pretty shit.

When will the 515 be available?

Sep in Poland, Russia and some other place. Here shortly after I guess.

So in the end, all the conspiracy theories have been proved right. Elop was a stalking horse sent into Nokia to engineer its ultimate sale to Microsoft. And now Elop is one of the top candidates to take over from Balmer at Microsoft.
I hope the entire Microsoft company suffers sales which take it into the abyss.

Why? Nokia haven't done anything special since the mid-90s.

Revisionist.

At least Microsoft have a captive market. Even if Win 8 is a steaming pile of shit and their mobile offering is fail^fail^fail they can sit back roll in the dollars from all those corporates that'll never ditch Office and Exchange and Windows and urgh IE.

Have you read any of Tommy Ahonens pieces epxlaining the multi-faceted manner Elop filleted Symbian, & thus Nokia.

this is Probably not the right topic, but today I'm going to build dry toilets
What's the best non-smartphone? I broke my Desire November last year and have been using an old sony erikson a friend lent me.
I have realised that I do not need aps and internet 24/7, just a small, sturdy, reliable mobile with a good camera and great battery life.
Any ideas?
