As said above, frame is over a year old and the cyclescheme is all paid up. I'll see what they say, but might be up for a new frame. Might need some suggestions, as I probably won't want to go with anything BLB's offer.

18 months of ownership and you are hoping for a refund
i don't think there are too many manufacturers who guarantee their new frames for that long are there ? ( except maybe a few of the higher end manufacturers )just about all manufacturers offer a warranty for a minimum of 2 years, most are 3-5 or lifetime like marin who are hardly 'high end'
you consumer rights would give you the right to demand a replacement if the product hasn't lasted a 'reasonable period of time' for a frame i guess this should be at least 3 years?
the only manufacturer i know that offers a short warranty is orange for their 224 downhill racing frames which is only a year but a seasons racing/training is quite demanding.don't know how you stand with a second hand frame though.

Off to BLB now!
Will update soon!

i stand corrected !

Sorry warrior. I'm not implying anything. It just seemed strange that a bike designed to be abused, was a bit weak.
I would take the frame back and see what the shop says.

Sometimes you've got to realise that Dale's autism, rather than being simply irritating, means he's got a great memory for facts and figures. His semantic store is ruthlessly organised, with the neuroligical equivalent of metatags efficiently cross-referencing via the main synaptic channels in his cortex.
In this instance, however, his memory of events from an earlier chapter in the history of lfgss were simply a result of his homo-erotic desires for wappingwarriors polished pecs and teasingly titian facial hair.
Good luck getting it sorted, ww - someone fucked up the brazing and forgot to apply frame saver.

teasingly titian - that is good.
can i use it, where appropriate, from time to time? -

Be my guest :)

in that case may i use
neuroligical equivalent of metatags efficiently cross-referencing
if i ever find a sentence it would fit in again ?

bmmf your talents are wasted on us.
i wouldn't go as far as full refund for frame, but that is a big (albeit rare) failure of the BB shell. they 'should' help in some way.

that second post is looking a bit silly now isn't it !!
-
• #41
@dicki - feel free, and let me know how you get on.
@dogs - yeah, they should at least be fixing and respraying for free, and possibly providing a loaner in the meantime. And I wouldn't say my talents are wasted on you. Time/money/family/job market meant I had to leave the world of allied health professions, but it's nice to have the oppurtunity to 'therap' people such as yourself i.e. people with cracked BB shells, metaphorically speaking (which would suggest an impairment in bottom-up psychological processing, don'tcha reckon?).

Thanks for the picture!!!
Just got back from BLB. 1 year guarantee on the frame, but the guys were pretty reasonable and we sorted out a deal on a new frame and no labour for changing everything over. Pretty happy considering BLB have no proof that I haven't abused the frame. Guy came in with a frame he'd broke that was just over a year old and just bought a new one while I was there.
Very happy with BLB's customer service, if not the frame they sold me.
Hoping to pick the bike up later today, so might be able to update again later.
Thanks for all the replys and help.

Not far off!
Miss the cobbles out! Don't think the frame would have lasted a week if I didn't!
