Yep, drops with tape/grips (at least on the bottoms) and end plugs to prevent injury.

Thought as much :(, annoying as i was so close to buying drops over my bullhorns!

• #179
what size stem do you have chris?
-
• #180
i have charge bowl drops (25.4 clamp size), and token track drops 42 cm (31.8 clamp size) that I have used about once each, never raced or anything, will happily sell on

Really tempted to get a bike together which could be track rideable.

25.4 I think, could be 26 though. I bought new bars that are 26 only to find out my old ones were 25.4, both seemed to fit fine though so I have no idea really.

With an ahead stem, I don't know quite how much it matters, I have some black drops (nothing special) you can have if you need drops for the track. They are road bars, but would do for the interim...
@jackbepablo I may take you up on the charge's, been looking at Deda's, but as they'd only be for the track seems a bit much! quonta costa?

Road bars are fine guys. Grandads and G Whizz can probably sort you out 2nd hand stuff for cheaps.
-
• #185
hmmm, they are literally new, though not taped particularly well, wiggle going them for 25, so hows a tenner and a bottle of old peculiar?

they are a slightly funny drop i might add, its a pretty shallow drop. you dont catch your arms sprinting or anything, but theyre not exactly traditional

That could be cool, would you be willing to swap for some cut down risers?
I need to try and re arrange my shifts at work, I'm well keen to get on the track!

yeah, but I said that last year! As long as I organise myself should be OK. Want to take a leaf out of your book and be a regular.
slaving it around NY eh? sounds like fun.
just headed there to see some friends and do some bike parts shopping.
road drops are fine on the PP track.. not many people actually ride with track bars there.

Man you can have them, might have some soyo grips I can chuck on the as well somewhere. Hopefully I'll have a bike sorted for the track by then, but not 100% sure at the minute.

Will the beginner sessions be starting off again in 2012? If so when will they start and what time will the sessions be? I no longer work friday evenings so I'd like to try and head down but I finish work at 5 and would have to travel from Pulborough to Brighton.

Hello. Anyone up for coming to one of the Friday beginner sessions? I'm really up for it after pay day (need some drops and ends... and a helmet). Accosted a very nice man called Pete Lacey with an amazing white Merckx track frame after the 125 year anniversary meet the other day and he insisted I go, so I guess that's that.

Hey ocdc, I'd be keen for joining you. Been meaning to head down for a while but life's got in the way so far.

I'd be up for that but my weekends are chocka at the moment. Also I dont have a track bike just a crappy Raleigh conversion.
Can you use fingerless gloves? I know gloves and foot retention are mandatory
Bull horns are considered a bit too stabby I think it has to be drops
