if your taking over your mates contract you dont need a new sim at all, you just transfer your number to his contract, continue using his sim in his phone, as for all the data, phone numbers etc, just back up your old phone onto your mac, then wipe the new phone and plug it into your computer and restore it as your 3g, this will transfer all your numbers, settings, email accounts and even photos and texts from your old mobile.

frank, you are star, putting my mind at ease.
also, when are you going to submit some stuff for the book?
Deadline is 1st march.. -

EEI,
I would sell the 3g one, but not sure how much I'd get for it, if anything, power button has snapped off, and headphone jack is temperamental so sound most of the time only comes out of one ear..
any offers???An unused 2011 promotional diary from a construction firm (a3 week to view with gold trim, wine guide and conversion charts).
Or a head rub and half a bottle of Chablis.

Anyone got the Inception app? I'm loving it. Weird, but pretty cool.

yeah,
its pretty cool in a really quiet house, the wind going past the mic when you walk around and amplified footsteps are trippy. check out rjdj too. similar premise, more musicy (definitely a word) less dreamy.. -

Things have been frosty ever since.

Apple have just made it so that Sony and Amazon cannot sell you eBooks via iPad, iPhone, etc.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/01/technology/01apple.html
They've started to enforce it with Sony, but it's basically going to hit Amazon too. Sucks big time. I now cannot think of a single reason to buy an Apple product, but many reasons not to.

There's a few of those iPhails floating around this office. I looked forward to Apple locking their shit down totally.
-

I kinda agree. It's the only way for people to realise the walled (high-walled) garden they walked into. They seemed to do so with their eyes closed, so it would be good for them to open.

Man, it really annoys me how stupid they are sometimes.

Man, it really annoys me how ancient they are sometimes.
fixed.
-
• #1466
Interesting... ancient is not a word I'd use to describe apple. They are market leading innovators in certain areas. However they are stubborn as fuck and seem to be losing their grip.
-
• #1467
apple are not stupid though, their market share while small still produces revenue as percentage of turnover that other computer/phone/electronic manufacturers can only dream of.
stupid and ancient seems to be doing rather well for them.
as for being 'locked-in' that actually suits a lot of people and they are in a majority compared to the moany geek who's flashing roms and fucking around with drivers on his hackintosh instead of getting on with shit.apple are not perfect, but i don't know any media/software/phone/electronics company that is.

photoben, I was referring to their way of handling business and the way they treat customer would be considered ancient, rather than their product itself.

is it worth upgrading to iphone4 from 3gs?
contract has now expired, I can get the iphone 4 for
£141, 600 free mins £35 a month and get £200 rebate for my current handset - and then be tied in for another 2 year contract
-
• #1474
Yes.
it's a massive improvement over the 3G one, especially if you decided to download the 4.0 software that made your phone behave very slow.
battery life is the biggest difference for me (as well as screen).
-
• #1475
some people say no
Apple has a flat rate of around £150 for any repair. Usually they will replace the handset.
