similarly sized psds and also after effects.
i could get away with four for sure but greed always gets the better of me.4 will be fine.
you only will notice the 8GB of rams when you have firefox opening 50+ tabs at once while opening several other programme at the same time without having some beachballing.
okay it's a Mac so it may get beachballed easily but still.

4 will be fine.
no. it will not be fine. if you click on the efficiency bar in the image window of a 1gb file and run a transform or filter dropping below 100% means swap files are written to scratch as there is not enough ram.
talking out your arse again Ed, why not stick to stuff you know about.

Somehow I missed the psd/after effect part of his comment, though he meant in general.

Anyone got a wi-fi problem solution. Am trying to unlock 3G using ultrasn0w. Jailbreak seems to work, but the bloody thing won't connect to wi-fi. Says it is, accepts WEP key etc, show connection symbol etc, but won't actually connect to shift data - just times out.
ANy ideas?

If only we had access to a giant global database at our fingers?

Heya folks,
Couple of weeks back my Ipod went to blank screen... And I attempted to recover it and it entered a recovery loop.
Today, Looking at it on my desk was paining me so id thought id see if anybody has sorted a problem like this.
The ipod is a classic 120GB. Ive tried various suggestion off other help forums.
Master reset plugged into cpu (mac)...just brings up the recovery message over and over. I cant run the diagnostic or put it into disk mode as the screen doesn’t display the apple logo (it is blank, not white).
Any suggestions??

hold menu + select til it resets, see what it does.
try a power adapter, ipods can get screwy and not respond to a charge via usb ports, they sometimes need a wall adapter or nothing else.
if that fails, then pop it open, check connections.
i fixed two classics just by reseting the hd connectors. like new now. :P -

Can anyone tell me how to delete an app on an iPhone? I got this damn thing a little while ago. My mrs downloaded an app onto it, using her account. Now I keep getting these messages and stuff about how it not authorised or something. Still haven't authorised my PC for iTunes store ... maybe that's the problem?
-
• #1391
hold your finger on the app until it wobbles, then you should get a little "x" on it, hit the x
-
• #1392
OK yep cheers murts, thing is, it's synching at the mo ... should I unplug? It resynchs and puts the app back, I thought I should do it in itunes you see... should I do it on the phone?
-

Sorted.
Well that was my one app, now deleted.
Any recommendations for a complete noob? I fancy having something to help me find routes for cycling... is there a bikely one?

There seems to be stacks of cool ones around, in fact almost anything you could imagine, but I don't want to load my phone up with crap. Duke Nukem, fuck yeah.
Innnit Josh! This. Totally.
I also want to be able to delete the shite that they assume everyone wants on their phone, like 'Stocks' jesus what a load of utter breadhead crap.

unfortunately you cannot delete the built in apple apps, but you can hide them
-
• #1398
Utterly stupid. I put them in a folder called App Crap
-
• #1399
ha, i have a folder called crap too
-

if you are Jailbroken you can turn apps off in SBSettings, no need for crap folders. You can also make folders bigger then 12 apps per.
i'm pondering a seagate hybrid drive, the one with a 32meg cache and 4gb of ss memory. cheaper than an SSD drive and will help with not having a scratch disk.
or maybe even swapping the superdrive for a small 40-60gb SSD scratch.
(i'm using my laptop for retouching as i'm buying a flat so don't want to splash 2.5k on a new macpro)
