On becoming a God in central Florida on Netflix. Kirsten Dunst is great, it's just a really well made series.
Thanks for the recommendation, I really enjoyed it. Looks like the decision to renew for season 2 was reversed though :(

What the fuck was Ted Lasso S02E04. Wasn’t expecting that to pop up in august.
-
• #6955
That's what my wife said, but as a program that follows a season in a series and is on in August it makes sense unless they start doing specials.

Star Trek: Lower Decks S2 now on Amazon.

"Modern Love" on amazon the prime is utterly fucking excruciating.
"ah de oirish in der oirland! ah ain't deh romahntik loik, fiddle de dee!"
and that's one of the more tolerable episodes.

Lodge 49 [prime video] surprise hit for me. down on his life cali surfer dude is in disarray after losing his father and struggling with pretty much everything, stumbles his way into a 'lynx' masonic-style lodge and it follows how being part of something helps him improve himself and the stories of others. not laugh out loud funny but a pretty lighthearted approach to the story with plenty of larger than life characters to observe.
was released in 2018 and was disappointed that it ended on such a tantalising note at end of S1 (only series on prime) but just seen there's an S2 so gonna try and purchase that elsewhere.

There was a Chris Packham walk program on BBC2 last night, its great for anyone seeking a bit of ASMR telly.

I remember posting that like two years ago, really enjoyed it.
Second series is very nice as well, think you'll enjoy that 🙂 -

Money Heist/Casa de Papel new season starts in a fortnight (Netflix). Really enjoyed (most of) it up to this point

Just finished Philly DA on iplayer. Recommended.

Not a new suggestion, but I started rewatching This Country, and it is brilliant and hilarious.

Just finished off Ghosts. It's the cast of Horrible Histories messing around in a character comedy; gentle but silly British humour. It's brightened my evenings immensely this past fortnight

^^^Markyboy; thanks for the recommendation. Shows the uselessness of i-player too, always recommending crap I'd never watch and missing out stuff like that that I lap up.

I've started this, with the aim of getting my eldest into it...

Reservation Dogs first 3 episodes available for purchase, good fun, Taika Waittii involved. Set in us of a small reservation town where four teenagers want to run away to california. Kinda reminds Hunt for Wilderpeople silliness

Got into this show recently and love it.

Looking forward to that. @WillMelling Can't go wrong with Storyville they are all decent. Currently half way through Trials of Oscar Pistorios which is V good.
On a different note 12 Storeys is on YouTube, Shaun Locks underated comedy series.
RIP Shaun Lock, 12 Storeys is on YouTube

Top Lasso this week, fucking love Brett Goldstein.
-
• #6973
It's so enjoyable now. but it's not because it is a great show in its storylines or pure comedy terms i think it's the way the characters are written and acted, I just enjoy seeing them do their thing, whatever that is each week.
Also it makes me laugh how they romanticise life in "idyllic" richmond for the US audience through very odd but tiny things a good example was the woman on close first name terms with her black cab driver when roy was trying to get into it outside the sky studios. the yanks probably lap that shit up like the thought of an english cream tea.

Best episode yet. Roy is my spirit animal.

He was chatting to Barry Jenkins this week on his excellent films to be buried with podcast (which seems to be getting some big American guests just of the back of Americans loving Ted Lasso) and he goes through his he got the Roy Kent role, which is kinda funny.
The dating app episode is back on form
