The Plot Against America seems to have some legs.

Crashing.
The latest Phoebe bless-her-she's-a-national-fucking-treasure Wallawalla-Bingbang written, producs & starring etc...
Is it as good as Fleabag though?

Is it not older?
-

Huh. This I did not know.
For "latest", substitute "one that I've just noticed".

just finished series 2 of Dark. Is series 3 crap?

Anyone watched The Bureau French political thriller?

You sure you don't mean The Bureau Italian drama?

Season2 of the sinner is good but the kid is fucking disturbing. Great performance but it’s a bit odd
-
• #6035
I watched the first few series of it. Quite enjoyed it but it wasn't amazing

Once Upon A Time In Iraq on BBC2 for the documentary fans, only first two parts of five out so far
Probably doesn't tell you anything you don't know but doesn't make watching it play out any less shocking and painful

Brave New World is a pass after watching the first episode

• #6038
I've only watched the first, not rushed to the rest yet but will probably give it a go.

Am really enjoying Feel Good on All 4 - great writing and cast. Like others here also rewatching Sopranos and just finished Detectorists (trying to achieve some balance!). Pondering starting Treme (as loved the Wire and quite enjoyed Show Me a Hero). Anyone watched it?

Warrior Nun
Netflix series, I'm a few eps in, I think I need to rate each one for Warrior-ing and Nun-ing, as generally she is neither. -
• #6041
Treme is slower than The Wire but has some great characters and some important social commentary...I gather quality doesn't hold in later series
-
• #6042
Treme felt like it had a great theme but there wasn't really any story there. Interest fizzled out somewhere in second series.
-
• #6043
Thanks both - might dabble with first series and see how it goes. It’s easy to forget how amazingly the Wire did social commentary and great plot. Show Me a Hero was so much more heavy-handed
-
• #6044
Yup, wasn't the same when John Goodman stopped being in it. Helps if you're into Jazz, as David Simon likes to use the show as a showcase for his Jazz buddies.

Stick with it, there’s not really a plot ever, it’s about people.
Even if you don’t get on with it it’s still worth it for the music, right up to the final episode of S4.

Agree with others here, not enough going on, got bored.
Have a look at Generation Kill miniseries, seems to be increasingly forgotten. Like The Wire, find a glossary slang and have it on hand for the first couple.

What platform is Treme on? I've still not seen it but hearing Wendell Pierce on Desert Island Discs made me want to.
I'd definitely recommend Little Fires Everywhere on Amazon Prime. I hadn't read the book first (though I wish I had because I don't like doing it the wrong way round) but it seems very timely despite being set in 1997, exploring structural racism, motherhood, family life. It's not groundbreaking but it's really well done.

It’s on Now tv currently, with no removal date so you should have ages to watch it. It’s well worth the price of one months subscription £7.99 I think.

This.

Also this.
I enjoyed Treme a lot, exactly for the above reasons.
It's about the vibe.
@Gustav just give it a try, you'll see if it's your thing very quickly, just don't expect a nerve-wrecking plot with twists and turns every episode.
yet another reason never to watch this neckfest.
thank you for your sacrifice.
