‘Guns are just a tool’ is NRA 101 but I did enjoy the episode for the style...

It was great, last 2 were super punishing, almost too punishy, but really good. Yes there's a load of dodgy views in it, but they never seem portrayed in a positive way, never got boring, well, maybe some of the wife flashbacks but only just, and no iron fish.

oh god the wife flashbacks when he's getting his face caved in whilst strapped to a chair... "i can take the pain just so long as i can remember making sweet sweet love to my dead wife to the tune of some awful white man blues" cringey pingey.
yeah ok, you've made your points. 9/10.

Please tell me they do not show this?
-

Detectorists.............best thing on telly.
Totally. I'm always amazed at how quickly an episode goes by

• #3813
yep totally

my one criticism is they use the same lazy trope of having the female partner hugely overreact to trivial things without allowing any kind of explanation so they can do the break up and reconciliation story arc.
"I saw you in a mildly compromising situation with that other woman which could possibly have been totally innocent but I'm going to immediately assume it wasn't and instead of asking you about it decide unequivocally that you are cheating on me and I will be at my mothers/sisters/best friends until you do something in the storyline to show how you've grown as a person and then I will immediately forgive you and we can do the happy ending bit of the story"

Where's the (thieving) magpie?
-
• #3816
That’s a bugbear of mine. Lazy plot locomotion device.
Also when the accusee seems incapable of saying any words that might help their cause in any way. -

Godless on Netflix. Episode 1 last night. Looked gorgeous . Slow plotting which worked and well structured where everything is understood by the end of the episode.
And now this:

Bodes well for season 5 starting this week

Anyone seen Mars on Netflix?
Docu-drama thing on putting peeps on mars. I’ve done 2 episodes and I’m on the fence. It’s intetesting but I feel like I keep getting pulled out of the story in order to be told some stuff about space exploration that doesn’t necessarily add to the story. -
• #3819
I turned off mars after about half an hour, super dull and badly shot and acted.

Vice Principals season 2...dark but funny as fuck

Finally, I'm not alone

I can't seem to stay interested enough to watch anything right through to the last episode at the moment. I watch so far, then just lose interest.
Latest casualties have been Mindhunters at episode 6 and American Gods at episode 7. I struggled on as long as I could. -
• #3823
Really enjoyed American Gods & Mindhunters

^ not that that helps you at all

I enjoyed the first few episodes, then I just couldn't be arsed anymore.
now that mention it, yeah that was a bit iffy. tho i'm happy to write it up to being a contrived expositional device to give yer man an excuse to double tap a roomfull of villains.
an episode filmed in the style of Rashomon, no less.
