  • Much more about business and less about the characters. Which is a shame.

  • It's good, E05 was a bit mental, felt like they'd tried to squash a two hour movie into a 50 minute TV episode... It's all a bit potty, I like it...

  • new season of broad city is abysmal.

  • I don't get why they made it a prequel. I'm not a trekkie and even I was getting wound up by the inconsistencies being produced by the seemingly pointless decision to set it earlier. I can't imagine hardcore fans have found it easy watching

  • Stranger Things Stranger Things Stranger Things

  • Thought it came out Sunday, so was most surprised to see it on Netflix earlier. Boom Friday Night

  • The new ST is perhaps the most poorly written big budget thing I've every watched.

    I'll keep watching.

  • First episode of mindhunter last night with Mrs Mash.

So disappointed. It made no sense, was upsetting in parts and nothing happened.

    It gets better right?

  • Yeah, it's a slow one though.

  • Same here. I’ll moan about it to my mystified wife (‘I don’t want to watch this, you don’t seem to like it, why are we still watching this?’) but i’ll See it through to the bitter end.

  • We started Tin Star last night. Mrs DJ gave up after 1 1/2 episodes.

  • I really don't get the praise for Stranger Things. It's so fucking dull....

  • Ditto

  • Our Sky subscription is £134 a month including broadband, plus movies, sport etc. £134! I really dont want to give Rupert Murdoch £1500 pa.
Definitely need broadband from a provider, but what cheap options are there for viewing?
We already have an amazon prime account and I think netflix but dont use either. Will this get us enough stuff to watch?
    What other devices are there?

  • Rupert Murdoch Doesn’t totally own sky yet ? Does he.

Your going to miss sky atlantic surely, you could get it via now tv for £6.99 a month plus some other channels, but it’s still sky.

We have Netflix and amazon prime, I could loss amazon and not miss much.

  • ST is far more tolerable if it's free.

  • Still Sky but a much smaller amount. I'll take a look, thanks

  • Dirk Gently is back and weird as ever.

  • Ring Sky and threaten to leave, bet your bill suddenly drops to much less.

Alternatively I have BT Tv, which is surprisingly not too bad.

  • or learn how to be a filthy pirate and pay £10/month for usenet access and watch every show you can think of a couple of hours after it airs in it's original country without a single advert using sonarr, nzbget & plex

watching broadcast tv is almost physically painful after that.

  • why usenet? is torrents are to dangerous?

  • Do you have a setup guide...

  • usenet?

my vpn > zooqle > transfer setup seems to work pretty well and no snotty letters from my ISP since forever.

  • usenet is less risky than torrenting as you don't upload anything which is where the big fines come in.

there's tons of tutorials out there for setup depending on your os etc.

    i.e. https://www.cuttingcords.com/home/ultimate-server/getting-started

    i'd recommend:-
usenet provider: tweaknews.eu (xx euros per month)
usenet search engine: nzbgeek.info (small amount for ViG membership a year)

most of the setup is running wizards and then adding the config details from one bit of software to the other.

edit: usenet will also max out your download speed where torrents may not but as it runs in the background it's not much of a big deal
