  • Watching episode 2 on netflix at the moment.

    Pretty good so far.

  • the 80s happened!

    stand by mE.T.

  • frasier starting from episode 1 on c4

  • The Girlfriend Experience (tv show rather than film) is stylish look at gender and power relations with a bit of titillation (albeit in a rather cold and at times unsettling manner). Would recommend.

Started watching new HBO series The Night Of and enjoyed what I've seen so far

  • First episode of The Night Of seems like they're going for the Serial vibe. Not sure I'll be able to make it all the way through, but definitely worth a view.

  • Stranger things is OK two episodes in, although the close up of the BMX wheel looked like it has a micro drive which definitely wasn't around whenever it's set.

  • I'm looking forward to that.

Airs on Sky Atlantic in September i think..

  • 2 episodes to go for me... it's been great so far.

  • stranger things was really just a mish mash of scenes from better movies served up by tired tropes, with one heavily signposted notable exception to suggest otherwise. there may have been a layer of irony that passed me by.

still watchable - just a bit dissapoint.

  • Still waiting for someone to request a truffle shuffle, guess the arm thing was it.

  • Starting watching Billions, I hate everyone in it

  • I love Wendy Rhoades.

    That is all.

  • NSU German History X - a German dramatisation of these losers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Socialist_Underground

Three episodes from different perspective (perpetrators, victims, investigators). Watched the first one yesterday. It was pretty good. A tad hard going watching the fuckers be fuckers.

  • sweet christams...

  • I'm currently plowing through The Leftovers. It's intense!

It had passed completely under my radar until a friend recommended it, and not many of the people I've mentioned it to have seen it, but it's HBO so hardly obscure. More popular in America maybe?

  • I really enjoyed Stranger Things though the ending was a little bit underwhelming.

Billions is OK, I really like Paul Giamatti so his performance is keeping me watching.

    Mr Robot 10/10

Has anyone watched The Booth at the End? Such a simple but engaging format and premise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLyzvc8QHL0

  • New series of Orange is the New Black was incredible at the end.

A few plot holes in the rest of the series, but then...fuck.

  • Stranger Things.

First episode lays on the E.T. schtick a little thick.

Then it just becomes tropey dribble.

  • It's very tropey - I think the preferred term is PoMo - but I'm enjoying it. Watched episode three last night. Got properly creeped and then ending was a bit of a shock.

  • That is to say, the nods to the 80s are thick and fast, but that's part of its style. From the credits being splashed over the first couple of minutes (rather than 8 minute long intros a la GoT), to adding a dose of film grain.

  • Bojack's back!

  • first two eps of Stranger Things last night - it's OK - a little Eerie, Indiana

  • Manhattan. Top binge watching material.

  • Robot Warrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs
