  • Seems to work for Omnium.

  • Does it really work that way (genuine question)?

I prefer the load to be on the frame, I really don’t like the way a bike feels when the load is on the fork. I don’t like way it pulls the steering around. I wouldn’t get on with a Crust fork, for example.

  • Have gone dynamo so this is surpless. 20” Halo sub 4 rim something hub something spokes. Rim tape. 36h.15TA. £20

  • 100% a million times better on the frame and not moving with the fork.

  • Looks like an upgraded orbea katu.

There's an electric one for sale near me for €400, kinda tempted even though I don't need it or have much space for it and would look a bit silly riding it

  • Buy it now! That’s a bloody bargain.

would look a bit silly riding it

Honestly, it’s only you that cares, rock it!

  • Here’s your daily reminder that nobody’s thinking what you’re worried they’re thinking.

    Ride what you want.

    Life’s short

  • I have a non electric Katu. Much fun to ride. Buy.

  • It’s not even yours!

But now you claim it is, I wanna see a wheelie!

  • Bought a cargo classic frameset from Velo domestique recently (thanks @VeloSurMer!) and took it out for its maiden voyage today.

Still a few things to do.. make webbing, build its own rear wheel, sort dynamo lighting etc but really happy.

  • How tall are you? I'm 6'3"and I worry I might be too tall for it, only review I can find is from Jack Luke who's 6'and said it was ok

  • I’m 6’0 and loads of room, a friend who is 6’5 rode one for ages

  • Haha, fuck, that's a big bag 😅

  • Pfft. Seen bigger.

  • GB guards 👌

  • Yeah I like the silver guards. The front guard is from a folding bike set I bought from bikeinn for £5, and the rear is from a pair of aluminium guards I bought ‘on here’ a little while ago, also for cheap.. now I have a reverse set of spares that I’ll never use :)

  • Anyone here know anything about insulated bags/boxes ideally for a bullit?

  • For food?

  • yeh, doesnt need to be super insulated, but basically we deliver meals that are packaged and go fridge to fridge. Obvs not a problem at the moment but come summer might be an issue

  • Where does everyone mount their front dynamo lights on the omnium?

  • EPP thermal boxes. You can get them in rigid or folding and lots of different sizes (to best suit the loading area of the bullitt). Folding is good as when they’re empty they take up way less space, but are flimsier and break more easily.

  • Depends. Are you running an extension bar?
I switch mine up depending on mood from there to handlebars. If on bars I run a blinky on the extension as people dont always see how long.

Without extension, from the breathhole underneath the rack

  • awesome, will have a look cheers man

  • Yes, running an extension bar.

Was thinking this on the main part of the rack at the front:

    https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/lighting-spares/black-schmidt-headlight-bracket-for-delux-milled-318-mm-clamp/

    Or budget option:
    https://www.merlincycles.com/dmr-hinged-clamp-65637.html

Maybe I could stick some sort of a diffuser on the extender bar so when the light hits it it goes everywhere.. disco ball ? 😆

Don’t want to use another light but I guess a little blinker on the handlebar might be sensible too. Have reflective strips on the tyres which help with side on visibility for sure.

  • I use this on the bar, main reason being I sometimes stand the bike on its nose and this means I can just rotate the light around a bit https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/lighting-spares/supernova-handlebar-mount-with-standard-os-rings/

I have this mounted under rack which some might deem overkill but was reassuring in fog etc https://brightside.bike/

Also makes you feel a bit like a HGV.
