Anyone got a bullitt Electric?
We are dying for one...

The R&M packster 60/80 is the ultimate for kid carrying IMO.

Love it. Got a lot of plans this year for little touring trips on it.
Reccomend the xt11 di2 for those who like to ride quixker/longer distances, less drag and more solid feel under foot compared to an internal gear hub (which are better for those who use them more in the city and for utility).
I ride it about 40% the time with the assistance off as you don't need it in flatter areas its so light and easy rolling compared to others (douze and urban arrow, but those bikes have their advantages too, more weight, more relaxed). Depends on what you want from a cargo bike.
This one is a demonstrator and anyone is welcome to take it for a test run or the day if you want!

So really I just want a frameset to build up, obviously cant do that with electric, reckon the assistance is needed?
future loads.. 2 kids, dog, paraphernalia etc.

You can't get the steps assistance specific framesets on their own. Variety of issues mostly to do with electric assist legislation and supply of engines.
You can get add on systems like go Swiss (went bust last month), pendix, bafang etc or just cobble your own together. In terms of any of those a bullitt is much like a normal hybrid so fitting isn't any more difficult -

We didn't want electric assist so R&M were off the radar. Might regret that decision in 10 years time when I have proper old man legs! :)
I personally don't like the way R&M look. Very much form follows function and very unrefined looking. They sure do work though as I've ridden one and know a guy who happily carts his two kids around in it...

As far as I'm aware our Douze weighs the same as the equivalent Bullitt? Around the 25kg mark? The Bullitt has a longer top tube, but if you're carting nippers around you end up having to have the bars up high to clear the canopies or heads if you're canopy free!

Anyone in n4/n5 area that might let me have a quick go on cargo bike this eve ?
-
• #2313
Mmmm you might be right, think a regular Douze with Bosch is around the same mid 20kgs, last one I rode had an alloy box on the front and had LWB/80cm front end and a suspension fork (not sure if that was standard or they fitted it after). Cable steering slightly odd to begin with but you get used to it, can turn very tightly!

FWIW, I rode my Douze back to back with a white Bullit on a cargo bike day here in Adelaide, and for me there was nearly no difference weight, acceleration etc. Only thing I could tell was that the cable steering felt a tad different and that the bullit was a tad less flexy.
The rest was down to different drive trains, Nexus 11 speed on my Douze vs XT on the Bullit.
Both were very close and if I'd make a decision between the two of them, it'd be down to what I need to carry and what price I could get respectively, rather than the ride characteristics. -

Update on the minitruck, now with a bed for haulin' stuff!Edit: Today's commute was my first ride with some load on the bike. Damn it's fun to ride!

I like that thing, yet can't help but think it would be great if that had cable steering, like under or next to the top tube - so you could actually put some rack / stuff on the TT as well - it really looks as if it's pretty much in the way there the way it is right now..

Thanks! In its previous life the bike actually had a cable steering. I only got the frameset and steering with a rod was easier to build.
Lower end of the steering tube is now the most limiting factor for cargo space, steering rod is quite high up and I haven't seen it as a problem for cargo. For carrying beer and pellets for the cat's litter box the bike is fine now.
Edit: More pics, this may be the coolest bike I've ever had.
