A little worried it might be a bit twitchy without any load on the front
My mate had one for a while. Had shimmy problems without front load. Sold it as he couldn't get on with it.

thanks. I decided not to buy one in the end, for that reason...

But also 406 not 451 :)

Good point

Which to me is a very clever swap, as I never understood Omniums choice of 451.
With 406 you get bigger selection of tires and space for bigger tires which handles better in turns and ads a bit of front suspension.
Just like there are surprisingly few who adopted a 650b rear, for same reasons as above. -

Yeah, I'm thinking of 650b for my one

Not sure what this scheme is aimed at, established big courier firm or small "just because it's there" kind of folk.
I know several people who would sooner pickup a cargo bike and do some city centre delivery of small packets for big companies if they could afford their own rig

Anybody know what rear light mount is used in these images?
Sent a mail to Larry vs Harry but no reply :(Looks like a basic U-bracket, but getting something off the shelf is still easier than making something myself.

• #1861
Probably a fab'd bracket. Easiest would be to use a long bolt and some spacers to just screw the light onto the frame instead.

Well, the plan was to bodge a mount for a B&M line small rear light anyway. But seeing the images got me thinking to switch to the Secula instead if a ready mount is available.
Still waiting on the bike itself to arrive, so can't really check the holes on the dropout. Just want to put the order in for everything at the same time. Will probably just order the Secula and the small light and see what goes best.
Wonder if I can setup both lights...

Why would you want your light mounted so low?
-
• #1864
Where else am I going to mount it?
Seatstay?
Don't really like the look of the Secula clamped to it. Would also require extra cabling.Seatpost?
Both me and my long legged girlfriend are going to ride this so the faff of cable is going to be too much.Fender?
Not going to mount it on a plastic fender. Also when fenders are removed will need to remount and reroute cabling.Rear Bridge seems the only other possibility, but that would also require a bracket bodge.
Mounting it on the left dropout somewhere looks tidy and I could also heat shrink te cable together with the brake hoses.

Could get a stay mount but just put it higher so the light is more visible. I'd put it on the right side for UK cycling.

You really have a point there. Never understood why people put lights near the axle. Its not visible from one side at all and way too low.
The secula for stay mounting works well directly on rear rack mounts.
As the bullits don't have those, I would just use the clamping one on the seatstay (might even work below seatpost clamp and look nicer). Yes, the ziptie solution is not the neatest, but it works. -

It's a Bullitt part but only for LHD markets, i.e. not here. Also the igh stuff gets in the way on the other side (on some hubs).
A good low light and second higher up light is fine imo. Always think two years better than one, gives vehicles better idea of how far away you are. -

Hmm, interesting I actually live in a LHD part of the world so will try and get some info locally.
The plan is to mount 2 lights, the second one will be a battery flashy thing on the seattube.

For sale?

After a few false starts, orders made, orders cancelled (boilers needing replacing) and miss opportunities on ebay I've finally got the bike I was looking for kind of.
Its the frame I missed out on a few months ago on ebay together with the front wheel and a few other bits. Dispute everybody's advise to the contrary I'm currently running it singlespeed without any real issues and having some reasonable loads on it and riding it over a few hills.
It's likely it'll get a 1x11 group set in the near future. Not so much due to riding it up hill with a load but more because its too spinney on the flat with the 38x15 gearing, it just feels like I could be moving so much faster with some gears.
In terms of group sets it'll either be slx or xt depending on how finances are after I've paid our first nursery bill.
I'm still working on how I'm going to get my daughter on it, for now I'm having too much fun doing the weekly shop and runs to the tip with it.

Does anyone have experience with putting a 650b rear wheel on a bullitt? or seen an example of it?
Something like 584-559 = 25mm, so ~12.5mm lower max tire height...
example of 700c x 23mm (and front 451/28mm):
from hereOn the bullitt website 700c x32mm is mentioned as possible but that has to be without fenders I guess

Here you go! Why would you want to use anything else than 26" though?
Excellent, I’m car-free as well.
