The new DX1000 (on preorder for April) is bigger. Currently using 2x kryptonite evo4 d locks, a Litelock core and an abus chain that goes into the wheel lock. And a Hiplock locking ziptie for helmets. Took a while to get the hang of positioning next to stands or signposts in a way I can use the d locks on the stand.

Wasn’t working? Was it working up until the time it got stolen?

Could you take a picture next time to share how you do it on posts etc? From October onwards I'll be doing the nursery run then commuting into town on the HSD and will have to leave it parked outside so need a robust locking strategy.
(Work has secure parking but you need to fit in the lift or carry the bikes 3 flights of stairs)

All the FindMy trackers (whether they're actual airtags or other FindMy compatible devices like the Knog) do is broadcast their ID by bluetooth to all the phones in the vicinity.
The phone then does all the useful stuff like sending the location to Apple. So the notification that you're travelling with an unknown device is handled on the receiving phone (in this case the phone of the scumbag who's nicked your bike). It's a feature of the network rather than the tracking device so there's no way Knog or anyone else can opt out of it.
If they're unfamiliar with what the knog looks like it might take them a little while to figure out what they need to ditch to stop the tracking but I think there's now an option in the alert to disable an unknown tracker that's travelling with you so they might not even need to remove it from the bike
I think it's probably useful as an immediate "your bike is being nicked and it's currently being ridden round the corner" alert but it's not going to let you track it for days or even hours after the theft. -

argh... every fucking day at the moment, i come out to the back yard. I take the bike parka off the Bullitt and it is damp under there. All condensation. Even when the top side of the parka is dry.
I have the skirt of the parka tightened up off the ground with the drawstrings, so it's not trailing and there is room for air to breathe underneath it and evaporate any moisture, but that doesn't seem to be helping it at all.
any tips?

Is there any kind of breeze or through draft? That seems to be the big drying factor for me.

I've just bought one so expecting the same as it's non-breathable.
Damp bike or damp ground? Dry your bike after a ride, or wait an hour before covering it. Could try slackening off the drawstring so the cover flaps a little in the wind, this should move air in and out. Parking in the sun or closer to a building also helps raise the temperature / dewpoint.
The good news is that it's only going to be a problem when it's both cool (but not below 0°C) and damp which is only about 9 months of the year in the UK

Grabbed a bottle boss mounted bag to replace my handlebar bag that only just cleared my knees. This is the 6l version, available in 4l.

Day two of ownership.,
Envolio is a mindfuck with the backwards gear change, but actually not hating it.
Brakes are better than expected.
Kids love it.
Dog loves it.
Brooks saddle now fitted, rear rack to go on and a few little tweaks.
Top speed 32.5mph so far.
Overall pretty content, £2250 plus £151 to get it from Yorkshire to Somerset.
Came with second battery and speedy charger which is grand.

Like it, more cockpit set up pics!
I tie wrapped a little sea to summit dry bag on mine the other day. Also the carabiner on the back board is extremely useful for holding up bags of shopping.

How hard is it to electrify an original Bullet? Mid drive? Front hub? Rear hub?
I don’t think I need a motor at the minute, but wouldn’t want to waste cash if they can’t be DIY converted. -

Front motor is super easy

Cross posting from the stolen bikes thread, but with more positive news this time. We just got our cargo bike back.
It’s still not entirely clear what happened, but the officer in charge of our case said that someone saw it ‘abandoned’ and called the police, and then a team other than the one who was dealing with our case picked it up and took it back to the station.
But they only linked it up to our case when I noticed that the tracker had moved and said it was now in the back of the police station.
So the tracker definitely helped with that, though I hope they’d have linked up the two cases at some point anyway. And it might have helped because maybe our nosing around where the tracker said it was might have caused the thief to dump the bike. Maybe.
Anyway, have got the bike back and it is pretty much as it was when it was stolen, so that’s a win.
And if anyone has one of the Asguard sheds with the two doors where the roof opens like this one: https://www.asgardsss.co.uk/bike-storage-x4 I would strongly strongly strongly recommend not relying on the shed and getting a ground anchor in there and locking your bikes to that.

Cheers all, despite the fact that the bike is literally a meter away from me as I type this, I am finding it hard to believe we got it back.
Only problem for that lock on cargo bikes is it's quite tight/short isn't it. What do you use when out and about for the Tern?
