  • All the larger 26” wheels would crack between holes in the inner wall. You’d still be able to use them (so you wouldn’t necessarily notice straight away) and they wouldn’t fail catastrophically but they’d be weaker and you’d get spoke tension going all over the place. We’d obviously get rid when spotted. This was just the larger rim size though, not 20”

  • I’ve built a couple of (front) wheels with the Hall T2 20” rims for an Omnium. Think it’s their bmx race focussed rim, seems pretty solid so far in use and nice to build with for the two I’ve done. 32 and 36 hole variants, but sometimes tricky to come by.

  • I like the look of the kurbelix own brand ones, but have no experience with them.

  • Pretty sure that’s an MX8, but would have to double check

  • That's quite possible, at least that they rebrand a kinlin.
But they give 200kg instead of 180 system weight and 550g instead of 510.

  • Afaik Kinlin doesn’t offer up ‘total system weight’ data in their catalogue, and it makes sense because there are a few variables- not sure where resellers get that info from.

  • Only mention of weight (and 200kg coincidentally) is in the description of traditional pin joint methods. But that’s not describing the system weight capability

  • does anyone know what exactly are the differences between the mini max v1, v2 and v3?

  • Omnium? Definitely the dropouts. V1 and 2 are QR, V3 has new fangled rocker dropouts that allow through axel, geared or single speed. V1 I think had sloping dropouts (thus allowing SS), V2 is standard qr vertical dropouts.

  • thanks, that's what I figured too but was afraid there were other changes like tire clearance or significant geometry changes or something like that. I tested a v3 today and loved it and now found a v1 for sale locally at a good price, so was just wondering if it would be different

  • Aiui -There is through axle, non rocker on v1 wifi. v3 has through axle rocker.

Confusingly I think there are 3 ‘classic’ (QR, not wide fit) frames. Og with horizontal rear facing dropouts, then one with 27.2 seatpost and diff drops, the last classic available to buy took a 31.6 seatpost . There are other differences I think

    Lolo prob knows best

  • There are no V1 and V2 for a start. There was a first gen with track ends. Then vertical dropouts and 31.6 seatpost. Then the Wifi started (with modular dropouts, revised rear clearance and altered BB height) and the previous generation became the Classic, available in matt black and Medium only. Classic has been phased-out since, current is V3 with rocker dropouts and belt compatibility.

History of the models pre-2019 is rather confusing tbh, I saw a step-through Mini-Max in town the other day and I have no idea if it was one of those "let's do 10" model or a modified frame... Should ask the boss on Monday.

  • Morning

Does anyone in here have a Bullitt X ?

    Thanks

  • Girlfriend new bike

  • That is stunning!

  • I really appreciate the attention to detail on that build!

  • Fitted a 2.25 Racing Ralph in the back of my Omnium Mini.

  • Did you go for it?

Out of interest were you thinking the Maxess because the less tall ones don't fit the GSD? Or just for some extra capacity.

I am planning the same but would prefer the normal size one.

  • I would prefer the normal height too but I currently have the storm shield which would need the extra height. Although, she's not always going to be in the storm shield. So have some deciding to do plus I still haven't mocked up the door dimensions to see how it goes in and out.

  • But, the extra height would be good just generally. I may include that factor into the mock ups to get internal auditor sign off.

  • Cheers. Also factor it into Finance dept!

  • My wifes new bullitt is mostly done. Custom build from a local shop. Its a balanced budget build: Electric front drive, micrsoshift advent, custom narrow box and cover (kids rain cover is the next project)

    @young_gun

    Where's this canopy from?

I may just make one but curious.

  • I'm probably letting my Omnium Cargo classic go soon
