Where are you based ltc?
-
• #1103
It's easier than you think. Just look ahead. Tight slow corners are the hardest so try and avoid needing to do a u turn on a narrow street...
-
• #1104
Based in Leeds. I'm guessing the hardest bit is getting going?
-
• #1105
Shame - if you were local you could have had a wobble tomorrow. It is pretty easy to master. Looking straight ahead and being a little sensitive with the steering. Once you have a little speed it is great fun...
-
• #1106
Like everyone says look straight ahead and dont focus on the front wheel. And try not to break hard on the front wheel while turning, if you hit some patchy ground the front wheel can skid out.
-
• #1108
it's easier than riding a bikepacking bike tbh, the steering wont feel nearly as heavy.
-
• #1109
Oh, cheers for the offer! Thanks to everyone for the advice. I'll report back.

Are they electric assist? Or what's the boundary? Leeds hills gonna be murdah.
-
• #1111
Nah, no electric assist. Mostly city centre but then up to the uni, Clarendon road is going to be an absolute cunt I reckon.

Bristol M8
-
• #1113
Leeds M8...
Highest point in Bristol is only 369ft.
Lowest point in Leeds is 33ft, I live at approx 600ft, 5 miles out of town The highest point in Leeds is about double that.
all of the uni campuses are on the road that takes me home.
I understand there are a couple of steep hills in Bristol, but yeah.
It's certainly doable but will be slow going.

So happy most of Manchester is flat.
-
• #1115
Back in the fixie heyday we came over for a cantgoslo ride, we were all running like 48/17, 47/18... most of the Manc lads were running monster gears, turns out there aren't many hills unless you head way out east.
-
• #1116
Any direction but south is uphill but nothing too bad, all manageable but slow going on a cargo bike.
-
• #1117
Leeds city centre isn't bad at all really, a couple of longish hills but nothing steep at all.

Update: didn't crash and die, had a nice time. Should hopefully start the job properly tomorrow.
-
• #1121
Congratulations.
Can I call you when I've drunk too many cannonballs for a lift home with my biek?
-
• #1122
I dunno, I feel like you'd probably sober up by the time you were halfway home, those things are slow as fuck.
-
• #1123
This should definitely be a thing, perhaps with a turbo trainer securely bolted to the bed of the cargo bike so you can get the sobering effect of pedalling all the way home with the wind in your face with none of the risk of drunken crashing.

I smell a gap in the market. Does anyone make lager flavoured sports drinks yet?
-
• #1125
Lager is a sports drink.
I've got a trial shift on Tuesday for a delivery company that uses Bullitts. Any tips for not crashing the fuck out of them? I've never ridden a cargo bike before. Closest I've come is some light bikepacking.
