I rattle canned it with enamel but did the worst job ever. Can't be fucked to fix it though. Looks pretty Mad Max now.

I'm chuffed, that's for sure. Thought it was a write off. Can report it rides differently. Feels stiff again. I was wondering where all the flex came from. Also the click I could never figure out where it came from is gone now.

I love it when a plan comes together.
Also a contender for fastest execution of a project on here. -

Well. I need to get my shopping. Really hit home how much I use the thing for small errands.

I know the feeling. I use our bullitt for commuting as well - I did not enjoy having to resort to the car, when the gear cable frayed and stuck me in 4th.

Just a reminder to not leave your battery charging overnight/unattended etc and so on.

nicely saved! Cargo bikes are generally to over built to let die

'The click' now im wondering if my bullitt has a crack. I've been presuming it's a bearing but considering it happens more often when loaded I need to do some checks I think.

Well done that Rob! You should have got him to chuck in a top tube whilst he was at it... however the repair looks more than decent enough though.
I wonder how many step-through Douze’s have failed near here?

He was able to make a gusset on the fly, all while carrying out the repair in my garage and keeping the price at around AUD250, so roughly GBP140.
Adding a top tube would have meant I'd have to remove the whole steering assembly, bearings etc for him, it would have taken longer and added a whole lot of extra cost. Plus he would have had to take the bike away and bring back because to decently miter and shape a top tube at the right diameters etc would have been tricky on-site.
I wonder the same thing myself actually. Looking at it, the design really needs the gussets there.

Great stuff! Bike saved plus many $$$$

This is a rather moot point. All the LI battery fires I've every read about are from cheap imports. If you're using Bosch/Shimano etc I don't think this is a particular issue. That said, I do unplug the charger once battery is charged (unless it's still not charged & past my bed time!)

What if you’re using Bafang?

Asking for a friend…..

Agreed. It would have cost a lot more (and time & effort on your side) and you would be without it for longer, plus I dread to think what spray job you would have done on the top tube! ;P
Main thing, it’s repaired and stronger than when it came out of the factory.

That’s great, I’ve seen a few UA families with a similar setup over the full on canopy
I've been running my Omnium tubeless for the almost three years I've owned it, and the majority of that time has been with steel bead non tubeless Schwalbe Big Ben Plus's. 😁
