You lot amuse me sometimes, why so serious? :)
Ok...here's my view...i'm not asking anybody else to agree, it's just how i see things personally.
I wouldn't wear a forum tee shirt for the simple reason that i don't socialise very often, and when i do it's usually forum based things, and in a regular social setting.
In a regular social setting such as in the pub, i'd prefer not to be wearing the same tee shirt as 3 or 4 other people...it just looks strange to me.However...a cycling club jersey is a completely different thing.
A club jersey is worn whilst cycling, usually with other club members to show that you're part of that specific club...it should show solidarity.
I have no problem wearing a club jersey as i'm proud to be a member of this forum.
But...The problem i have with these jerseys is that they show the side of the forum that is better kept ON the forum.
If people want to bang on about arrospoks, or tell people to HTFU, or claim a certain bike is 531 awesomeness, then fine...i can just ignore it. But when it comes to being out on my bike i'd prefer to be promoting the cycling side of the forum that first attracted me to this place. It's like when people decribe themselves as a bit 'craaazzzzyyyy' or a bit 'funky'...when in actual fact they're just really normal people who like to make fools of themselves in public from time to time. :)
There was ALWAYS one or two teams at mountain bike events that were made up of a few mates from the pub that thought it would be funny to call themselves 'Team Beer drinkers' or 'The crazy cnts...etc. I'd rather not be seen as part of a club that thought it would be hilarious to plaster Arrospok, HTFU, FTW, 531, upside down NJS logos, or my little pony all over their black and pink jerseys in an attempt to show that they don't like to take themselves too seriously.
Ride with a smile and laugh along the way...be the person you are and be happy with that....don't try and be the person you think the forum wants you to be.Simple is accessible to everyone and will still look good long after you've saved up the money to have that 'Bart simpson sucking Ralph wiggums cock' tattoo removed from your arse cheek.
Know what i mean? :) -

Halloween Parade
There's a down town fairy singing out Proud Mary
as she cruises Christopher Street And some Southern Queen is acting loud and mean where the docks and the Badlands meet This Halloween is something to be sure Especially to be here without you
There's a Greta Garbo and an Alfred Hitchcock
and some black Jamaican stud There's five Cinderellas and some leather drags I almost fell into my mug There's a Crawford, Davis and a tacky Cary Grant And some Homeboys lookin' for trouble down here from the Bronx
But there ain't no Hairy and no Virgin Mary
you won't hear those voices again And Johnny Rio and Rotten Rita you'll never see those faces again This Halloween is something to be sure Especially to be here without you
There's the Born Again Losers and the Lavender Boozers
and some crack team from Washington Heights The boys from Avenue B and the girls from Avenue D a Tinkerbell in tights This celebration somehow get me down Especially when I see you're not around
There's no Peter Pedantic saying things romantic
in Latin, Greek or Spic There's no Three bananas or Brandy Alexander dishing all their tricks It's a different feeling that I have today Especially when I know you've gone away
There's a girl from Soho with a teeshirt saying I Blow
she's with the jive five 2 plus 3 And the girls for pay dates are giving cut rates or else doing it for free The past keeps knock, knock, knocking on my door And I don't want to hear it anymore
No consolations please for feelin' funky
I got to get my head above my knees But it makes me mad and mad makes me sad and then I start to freeze
In the back of my mind I was afraid it might be true
In the back of my mind I was afraid that they meant you The Halloween Parade At the Halloween parade At the Halloween parade See you next year, at the Halloween parade

Just incase you couldn't read that part, here it is again.
It's a personal opinion, not pomposity. -

I like the idea of there being a forum jersey. However I am not interested in proper, sporty, sponsor-covered team jerseys. I'd feel silly wearing anything like that, because I'm not sporty and never will be.
So why not have a jersey for people who feel the same as me? why does it have to be all-out forum jokes or po-faced tour-de-france replica earnestness? a happy medium can be reached, surely -
• #463
so, kind of po-faced tour de france in-jokes?

I think a thread should be started in order to discuss the design of said jersey, should be all cleared up in a day or two.
