Well done sorting this out Bogey i'm really up for this.....But i'm not entirely convinced that it should be a random selection , some people were in favour of teams chosen by postcode, age ,size of moustache/penis/ctc seat-tube measurement, or friendship ?
Also there's a load of people who don't go on this forum ,who still play Polo and deserve a voice in it too.I dunno maybe we could sort this all out on thursdays in the Maypole. Or if it would be possible could we transfer players like in the football leagues ? - Bogey

Yeah but surely we want to determine the best cambridge players, not form several equally shit teams???
I really think age/tache is the best team division.

I suppose we all can only improve, and if there is close competition then it will make a better closely fought league and eventually benefit everyone.

I thought i'd get the ball rolling, so we can have a discussion about it and to be honest I agree with you RV, it would be far better if we could organise teams based on who ya know type thing, as it would become infinitely easier to organise each others teams.
I just thought for the few who are relatively new to it, the random selection would encourage these people to come play. I don't know, maybe not?
Either way, lets discuss it properly over a beer on Thursday.

Either way it'll be more Polo for everyone :) The winners gets to play in the Euro super-league ? Ha ha ha

Good work all-
I think that we need provisional dates for all fixtures so if any team can't make it, then we can know about it as far in advance as possible and make arrangements to swap fixtures about a little- I know I'm away on tour in May for a week or so, and think Matt is going to be on tour at some point too....
Is there anyway we can have a private phone numbers thread on here?
-
• #21
next time we all meet we should swap numbers :)
i don't like putting numbers on the internet, even if the forum was private -
• #22
ive asked the admin he said you can't create a private thread under social groups, so no we cant.
just get them down on a piece of paper either on tuesday or thursday down the pub -

Good work indeed. Just to wanted to add that I think some people may have difficulty in honouring their commitment to the League games if they are played on Tuesday nights due to work/study etc. I am pretty flexible but (for example) I am told that Ozram works on Tuesday evenings. I suggest that we play the League games first on Sundays from 10 or 11am then progress to 'throw in' games after the League games have been played out. I think that more people would be available to play on Sundays... Would that suit everyone better or not? Will.

I agree also. League games in the morning on Sunday followed by throw-ins. Also this means everyone will be able to come down and spectate/heckle/throw empty beer cans in spokes etc. I am very excited by the way.
