Primus are playing Brixton in July .... I remember seeing them play Trent Poly Student Bar when Frizzle Fry came out! See you shortly in the Effra.

if you like ska then you should definitely come and see tyrannosaurus alan at the world's end on friday. really, really good band.
the punk thread never gets a visit so if you like punk, definitely come and see moral dilemma on the 24th (thursday) at the barfly in camden. again, really good band. -

Oh my god.

What's up BRM? Are you confused/angry/disappointed with last night's show as well?
-
• #382
I thought it was great. Less pyrotechnics than expected and Zombie taking a while to get into it were my only (minor) gripes.
Access to the VIP bar was a nice surprise, too.
What didn't you like?

Boobies and robots good, pussy liquor good, thunderkiss 65 good
wrecking more human bad, the first 3 songs he couldn't keep up, was pretty dissapointing. the lyrics on the visual pissed me off as well
took shitting ages to come on, the drum solo could fuck off as well
Enjoyed some overall meh
oh and if Werewolf women of the SS isn't actually a film I'm going to be angry, I'd quite like to see that. Edit: ah it's a trailer from death proof/planet terror

Self indulgent, poorly thought out show. He's just going through the motions. Not expecting him to be as good as he was 20 years ago but FFS there should be another 20 years of stagecraft in there somewhere. If there was, I didn't see it.

yep seemed to be pandering to teens as well... a significant amount of time wasting too

Completely self-indulgent, but surely that didn't surprise you.
His new stuff is fucking shite, btw.

Boobies and robots good
Motorised-wheelchair robot, struggling with reverse ... hmmmmm.
Glad I went, but totally Spinal Tap without the naive sincerity.
And jigging boobies? I prefer these ones ...
-
• #388
no, no - the jiggling boobies were great.
i was always going to enjoy it, but i definitely agree that for a man that had a rep for the bet live show around (15 years ago), he was not worth the hype.
hey ho, 6 months ago he was on the list of bands i loved, but thought i would never see live.

Maybe it's a girl thing.
If he'd pulled off that show 15 years ago, we would be clamouring for more ... unfortunately the likes of Rammstein have popped up and you cannot beat Till Lindemann straddling a pink, phallus-shaped, foam-spouting cannon giving the audience a soapy soak. Then again, maybe it's a girl thing.
Hell yeah!

Melvins and High On Fire currently stranded in Christchurch Airport having checked out of their hotel and driven to the airport moments before the quake!

QOTSA have announced they'll be touring the Self Titled album and some b-sides and tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9am
It's their best album and will give me flash backs to seeing them at the garage years ago..

(you may like to note that Im generally all for earsplitting directionless undanceable balls, but seriously, he's rubbish live)

oh wait, that was yesterday, nevermind.

ha! i enjoyed it anyway. could see how it wouldn't be good after seeing him once or twice. His new album stuff is slightly more danceable also.

after last night, i can thoroughly agree with this. i bought the ticket looking forward to scotch egg as well.
Mogwai better be fucking excellent tomorrow.
Give us a shout when you're in the effra, not seen you since your 'car disaster'...
Oh and L&W - I didn't even realise Primus were still going. Are they still recording, or living on their 'faded' glory?
