Went to see José González last night at Cadogan Hall and he was great. A lovely evening was had.

Sleaford Mods at Printworks last night. Someone's told Andrew that he has to be a sub-Bez dancer-type now, rather than concentrating on his drinking in the vicinity of a laptop. It doesn't really work.

Couple of tickets to Handel's Messiah at St Martin-in-the-field going this Thursday for anyone who wants them. Free, but £10 to Shelter wouldn't go amiss.

Happy for you to take it ahead of me. I've got Richard Dawson on the 20th so I don't need to be ramming another last minute gig in the day before.

Cool, thanks.

Richard Dawson was ace at the Roundhouse tonight. Like his recorded stuff (obviously) but even better live.

I just saw 'Ordinary Giants' by Robb Johnson. Excellent show, highly recommended, on again tomorrow at Chats Palace if you're stuck for something to do.

After having a shedload of gigs cancelled over the past couple of years I’ve had two gigs this month, and at least 5 in February. Things are looking up.

I'm not likely to make the Dandy Warhols London gig on the 13th. Anyone sold "digital" tickets before? Anyone looking for Warhols tickets?
"We wanted to let you know that all Roundhouse events are now digitally ticketed, including this event.
What this means for you:
Your order has been transferred to digital tickets. Digital tickets will be delivered by the venue (they will not be sent by Ticketmaster). If you experience any difficulties, speak to the box office when you arrive. Digital tickets will be sent from orders@roundhouse.org.uk. To ensure you receive them in your inbox, add this to your address book now. You'll receive your tickets closer to the event date, no sooner than three days before the event and up to 2 hours before the event. Tickets will be scanned from your phone so there's no need to print these. If you can't access tickets from your device, simply go to the box office when you arrive at the event and the staff will be able to locate your booking with your ID. Please note the booking can only be discussed with the original cardholder. If you can't access tickets from your device and you're not going to be there on the day, don’t worry, you can provide a letter of authorisation to the person collecting on your behalf. However, if the event is leadbooker only then the cardholder must attend.

I imagine it’s just a case of you finding a buyer and then emailing the ticket over to whoever bought them. The roundhouse have never checked my ID or anything when going in with digital tickets so no issue with people being turned away as the none original ticket buyer from my experience. There’s a trust element from the buyer I’d think, as you could sell the ticket and then turn up at doors time and use the ticket then they couldn’t get in. Wouldn’t have any idea where you could list the ticket to be sold though other than places like this.

Scarlet Mist is good as a non-profit face value resale platform....

Ta both.
There's a chance the missus will use the tickets now. We'll see.

Anyone been to Lafayette yet? Looks pretty intimate and there's a few shows coming up I wouldn't mind going to (Porches, Yuma Zouma, IDER, Dora Jar).

Just out of God Is An Astronaut at Islington o2 (a strangely early curfew? Or maybe that’s standard for this academy?) Another that I’ve had tickets for since pre covid and has been set back many times. Was great. Got the tickets on a whim at the time as like some of their stuff but never listened much compared to other groups of a similar ilk but glad I did cos they played a blinder.

Excited to have tickets for Autechre and Zoviet France at the Barbican in October. Only 7 months to wait…

Was at Tangerine Dream at Roundhouse with my dad tonight. Another one we’ve had tickets for since 2019 that was meant to be in mid 2020 but got pushed back several times. Feel like it was heavier than the last time I saw them but was a good show.

Had managed to completely skip over that Fucked Up are on tour in the UK starting today, even though I swear I've checked at least 3 times over the last few months to see if they had anything planned. Very happy to see there were still tickets available for their Scala show tomorrow.

Chats in Brixton tonight
I'm seeing them in Preston next week. I did wonder what would happen when the guitarist joined The Blinders (who are fantastic). Hopefully he'll still be doing this tour too though.
