lol. who's that lady boy in the tights?
I think it should be highlighted that myself and Matt did the whole thing fixed.
Although i had the benefit of modern fibres. -

how did yous get on with being fixed? feet off the pedals for the downhills?

Bob did it 80% fixed too. Wasn't too bad. When you're in the Newcastle LFGSS long distance cycling club you just take the pain and feel the glory. Mwah mwah - easy to be smug now but was pretty painful on the first day especially. There were a few three or four mile descents where it was a bit spinny but we were only a minute or so slower than freewheeled so worth it.
The next question is, when do we start training for the Berwick to Newcastle Century? Pretty sure I can think of at least two people who'll be up for it...

yeah kudos to boab as well.
pedro was the only one who had an easy ride
tbh I enjoyed the climbs more than the down hill sections. the knees take a bit of a beating when you are spinning at over 100rpm for 4 miles.
all in all though, not too bad. i would do it again (fixed).
get that thread started for the century.... im all over it. -

god i think my knees would have turned to fucking dust doing the whole thing fixed. did pete do the whole thing with 1 pedal?

Cant believe u lot took soo long, this guy is showing how it should be done!!
Need to work on the route planning and managed to snap my chain last night on a practice run but otherwise, good to go. Got all the tools on the list too. Is anyone taking a lock by the way? Can't really be arsed to carry one so thought I might chance it.
Rang Tim Westwood and asked him if he could pimp my ride. He was all like "let's get some sub-woofers and diamond detailing on there," but we worked out our differences and I still ended up with a hip-hop touring bike.
Yeah, whatever, getting pretty excited now.
