I bought my share of AM95s, great shoe... Unfortunately only ever had the neon in OG... Always lusted after the women's white/blue/black but my plates were too big, innit bruv?
OG Japanese black leather were awesome as well... Maybe you had to be there...

And BTW... BITD that was a very fucking hard shoe to get hold of!
Foot Locker would have less than 10 pairs in each size (remember they only had a coupla stores in London back then), t'was a hectic drop... Oh wait...

AM 95,when the AM went mainstream in the UK?
95 didn't take off in NL when I was there, too much going on es the consensus back then...

There weren't enough of them to go around to be mainstream... By 97-98 Nike realised they were onto a winner and started putting them out in every hideous colourway imaginable...

Misread your post, the best dressed street/estate/chav kids always wore Nikes back then, whatever was newest/hottest... It was always the shoe to be seen in...

Might be getting the years mixed up, from one year to another I remember that every scallywag went from Reebok Classics to AM 95.
For me it's always been about the AM1, light and AM90 at a push.

Nope... The 95 was on it. Had the black too. Quite a few clothing companies have tried to make tribute products for the neon 95... Mostly jackets. Never really worked.

^^Was gonna say, I grew up in Belgium and it was always about the AM Classics rather than the 90s or 95s. To this day I still wouldnt dream of buying a pair of classics just cos of the association with scallies and gabbers shudder

When EU Footlocker was churning out AM95 exclusives in the late 90's I was sending loads of pairs to guys in the US who would hook me up with FL and Finishline USA stuff in return.
One guy was working for Continental Airlines at the time and he decided he absolutely had to have the AM95 I had got for him and his girlfriend to wear to spring break and I wasn't going to be able to post them to him in time.
So he took a used his huge staff discount to fly to London, Gatwick Express to Victoria Station where I met him and gave him the shoes and he got the next train back to Gatwick and returned to the US with his only ever trip to Europe consisting entirely of a McBreakfast with me.
/CSB
Still have a pair of these.
