Aren't NB just trainers for people that don't actually like/wear trainers on the regular?
Have one pair, wear them out, buy another pair. Some of their new ones are okay, but that might be because they have kind of become middle class fashion ubiquitous, like those adidas nmd's a few years back.

NB were pretty big late 90s early 00s, especially on German terraces, people who wouldn’t wear the 95s migrated to NB for a short while until Nike stepped up their retros on the AM1 in a big way.
The dunk/samba/550 mania is mainly for Becky’s who get their OOTD inspo on TikTok though innit?

A pendant writes: you may have conflated the Silver Shadow X4 with the earlier Hi-Tec 'nearest thing to four-wheel drive for your feet' ad:

Also wasn't the Silver Shadow a mark of off-duty soldier/undercover police?

The definition of terrace.
Ultra shite.

"Beckys"???
Thanks for the background on NB, I've just never seen anyone wearing the old style look like they actually enjoy wearing them. Mostly (sweeping generalisations incoming) off duty suit wearers, or people showing too much sock, people who care not for trainer styling, but just want something which isn't Nike or Adidas.

I mean nothing captures terrace sub-culture like Stoney, with its distinctive style, including the iconic compass badge, and a blend of comfort and functionality. Its unique designs resonate with the casual yet stylish atmosphere of the terraces, while durable materials align with practical needs, making it a symbol of terrace fashion.

It's 2023 everybody running marathons, fuck football

Football casuals remain an anomaly where they are the only youth culture where you actually do want to dress identically like your dad.

Yeah it's a strange thing to be sure. I'll take the opportunity to post this link to one of my best friends Instagram. His main thing is vintage Massimo Osti although he also has tons of 'terrace chic' trainers.

I've just learnt something, I had no idea they were part of Bata. Power trainers were huge for a very short time when I was a kid then they vanished without trace.

These going to look great under skinny jeans and a stoney duffel on a fucking fat guy shouting caaaaaaant while eating a pie

What a word salad

Well, it will help them when they need to "be on their toes" because "they're getting run off" by the "dulwich ultras".
-
• #23072
Is that an attack, you bastard?
And do they come in triple black?

• #23073
Shout out for British Knights too, still going apparently. The only brand you would see Derek B wearing.

• #23074
I can see you in them now

Saucony are proper dad runners.
Asics gl with their kith resurgence, NGL i still really like them.
Recall Borg Elites being very desirable in the playground for about a year.
