  • Colapinto

The new batch seem to be getting better each year, probably also richer and/or better funded.

Since the whole dying thing has been largely resolved the profile of drivers has shifted somewhat.

  • Oh yeah, absolutely! Though to be honest, I can't imagine either of them are particularly bothered about whether they finish 2nd or 3rd. Though I guess coming 3rd when your team has taken the WCC is probably not a great feeling (though Perez looks to be on track to finish bottom out of the top 4 teams which is embarrassing, but not surprising).

While I'm still very much enjoying the racing this season, I can't wait for next year. Really hoping for another 2010-style season with a bunch of drivers/teams all competing for actually winning it.

Still think Max is going to take that one too to be honest. But will be interesting to see how it pans out. I'm expecting Piastri to take the lead at McLaren, and have no idea what way Leclerc/Hamilton will go. Of course Hamilton is no slouch, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Ferrari way of working will lead to some frustration (which would be understandable to be fair).

Still miffed that they got rid of Sainz, such a great driver pairing IMO

  • Yep, hoping the performances of Bearman, Lawson & Colapinto prompt the teams to have a bit of a shake up of the roster. There's a lot of dead weight in the paddock for sure.

Bottas (granted, hard to judge him based on the car he has), Zhou, Magnussen, probably Ocon too. Riccardo was a lovely guy but another one blocking new talent while not really providing anything on track. Will be interested to see what happens with Tsunoda/Lawson, as I feel that might be the tipping point for Tsunoda getting the boot (possibly not until after Honda's partnership with RB ends)

Of course Stroll is in there too, but that's unlikely to be vacated (feel for Drugovich, having to wait for either Stroll's dad to fire him, or Alonso to finally retire).

  • Music to my ears

  • GREAT race

  • Even more gutted now that Sainz is off to Williams. Such a great driver pairing IMO. 2025 shaping up to be an awesome season!

  • Now the Mexican GP is over I'm sat waiting for the 'Checo->Out' news to finally drop... Surely!

  • Even more gutted now that Sainz is off to Williams

agree. im gutted for Magnussen too - amazing drive and would have scored points last week too if they hadn't fucked up the tyre strategy again

  • Verstappen starting 17th. Ace.

  • Quality grid

  • That's the drivers championship decided then.

Can't argue Verstappen doesn't deserve it after today. Superb drive and no hint of controversy.

  • Above post is obviously tempting something significant to happen in the remaining 15 laps.

  • Does he have to pit still or does the red flag negate that need?
Be great if he does and/or he over eggs it. Would appreciate this title fight staying open for longer.

  • ‘Free’ pitstop/change of tyres under red flag, so no he doesn’t unfortunately

  • Thanks. Shame really. With the ground effect cars being so terrible in the rain makes you wonder why any team thought there wouldn't be a red flag and took a punt on the pitstop.

100%. epic drive. first lap was incredible. made everyone else look like amateurs

  • What a race, missed it live so just caught it there, absolutely love Interlagos for this sort of stuff. Such a disappointment that it's not the season finale anymore.

Would hate to see the impact on the teams' wallets after this weekend though! I'm sure some teams are trying to flatten out their old Monaco wings to make do at this point!

Absolutely awesome performance from Max too, not really surprising given his form in similar conditions at Interlagos. Was hoping for a points swing towards Lando to keep the championship interesting but after a drive like that I think you may as well just give him the trophy now.

Also, I'm not really one to wade in on the Max/Lando dramas of late, but Lando's comment of "It's not talent, it's just luck" regarding Max getting the win is utterly baffling.

Definitely comes across as sour grapes, but Verstappen clearly benefitted from the red flag. Most drivers - Verstappen included - seem to agree that being able to change tyres is an unfair advantage.

  • Yeah but the rules are the same for everyone, swings & roundabouts. Russell was pretty pissed off at the team for calling him in as he wanted to stay out for the red flag. Yesterday Norris benefitted while Verstappen got screwed by a pretty questionable red flag.

Again, I'm far from a Verstappen fan, but my mind immediately went to Miami when the reporters after the race were trying to downplay Lando's win because he got lucky with the safety car.

  • Also on the radio calls point, I utterly adore this man: https://dubz.co/c/37b99e

Poor williams. Down a place in the constructors too

  • Damn shame after they've made decent steps forward too. I've always been a Ferrari fan but in terms of teams I find myself cheering for, it's mainly been Williams under Vowles for the past few seasons. Though if rumours are to be believed, they might be getting some cash from RBR for either Colapinto or Sainz. Seems like it'd be a good move for all parties.

  • will be very interesting to see what happens to that RBR seat (sorry Perez..)

  • Though if rumours are to be believed

What's the word on the street? Williams release Colapinto to V-carb for cash or keep him and sell Sainz to RBR?

Great race, +1 Max was great/gutted for Williams, did you manage to cheer for Ocon?!

  • I've seen both, the guy that broke the news of Colapinto to Williams says it's straight into Perez's seat (https://imgur.com/a/colapinto-to-red-bull-zNudUvB). I'm hopeful it's Sainz to RBR, but wouldn't be surprised if Verstappen Sr. tries to block that.

    Will be exciting either way!
