I shouldn't think so, i'd say they'd just go back to what they used to do and run the car on fumes for quali.
I'm still undecided about this Q1/Q2/Shootout idea over the 1 hour session, the new idea does make it more exciting throughout the session as opposed to the 1 hour session where it gets interesting only really in the final third, but with the new system there's a lot of oppurtunity to get it all wrong and end up in the bottom 5/10, though I guess it makes it more interesting watching the fast guys try to get through the field.

What the heck....its a balmy Sunday afternoon, so why not a bit off track?
This is the best car control I've seen in a long time. Jason Plato, I nod at thee.

Not sure what to make of this...

That was fantastic to watch, always been a Plato fan (my dad had a Seat Toledo when I got really into BTCC which is what Plato was driving), though it looks much better than it was, it's FWD so you've just gotta floor it and counter-steer, still, it takes pretty good instincts to react that quick.
Now, if he saved a slide like that while driving one of the BMWs he would officially be a driving god!

He still lost the place tho didn't he. Giovanardi would have kept position in that instance...

Actually, no. He didn't lose a place per se.
The stewards, after reviewing the ineptitude of the BMW driver, awarded JP back the spot, and Mr.ArseBMW was dropped to last.
Plato won the race.
Giova...who? Never heard of her.

F1 can survive without Ferrari.
Is Max Mosley mad? No it can't Max, as viewing figures, and therefore advertising income would fall through the floor.
The racing might be just as good, but without the Ferrari suppporters, and the history of that team, F1 would be no better the the A1 GP.
No insult intended. -

bloody spamming in the F1 thread!!
F1 will be dead without Ferrari
Ferrari is entrenched in F1 history , Max is a idiot

bloody spamming in the F1 thread!!

Met Kimi today, just thought i'd share that =]
-
• #612
No way!?!? Where, when, how?!?!?!
-
• #613
There's a new Ferrari store on Regent Street, turns out he was there today, along with a shitload of awesome Ferrari's, including Nick Mason in his 250 GTO, possibly the most beautiful car ever, there was a huge crowd out front, so me and my 3 friends decided to be crafty and go out the back and stand beside his car.
-
• #614
photo?!?
ps... what was he driving?
-
• #615
Certainly
Him with Nick Mason (who was there in his 250 GTO...oooooh what a lovely looking thing that is)
The 250 GTO in question
Here's a funny pic from the BBC boys
Kimi was driving a 599 btw.
-
• #616
did you get the chance to have a chat with him? The GTO looks amazing.
-
• #617
Not much of a chat, just more of a "good luck" which was replied to with a cheeky grin. That GTO is bloody gorgeous!
-
• #618
I'm going to create a bit of an argument here......but though I agree that the Ferrari 250 GTO
is one of the world's most beautiful cars ever......is it actually more beautiful that the
Aston Martin DB4 Zagato?
Its still crafted (body) by an Italian stable (Zagato), so the Italians still win, even with bulldog flavour.
-
• #619
Yep =D
-
• #620
+1, Kimi is a beast, I can imagine that grin now!
-
• #621
How amazing! You met Nick Mason!
Who's that Kimi bloke again?
-
• #622
I was really happy that Nick was there too, in his absolutely fantastic 250 GTO, such a gorgeous thing.
Here's that Kimi bloke:

I should point out that in that second clip, that was mid-race, where he was supposed to be competing, but he decided to pull in and park his car because he thought there was no point in continuing, what a hero.
-
• #623
easy Oliver ;)
I met Kimi @ Indy... he can be a little warmer then he comes across on TV, esp after a few brewskies
Did you get pics of the 599??
-
• #624
@ Ashe, I posted some lovely examples of the Zagato a few months back in the car thread, check them out
-
• #625

If there is no refuelling, is Q3 still done with race fuel?
