I wouldn't be surprised if Ross Brawn retires, it's not like he needs to work after he sold Brawn GP for something like £120Million, or at least takes a year out to go fishing or something, then join McLaren when they partner up with Honda in 2015.
Nicki Lauda is claiming he wants Brawn to stay and is trying to convince him to but I'm not so sure this is true/will happen. -

I don't think it's a case of "needs" - it's more a case of "wants".
You don't just switch off being competitive...
-

Yes, that is of course very true.
But he does like fishing.

The rumours of Maldonado heading to Lotus are getting stronger. It would be interesting to see him "fighting" at the front of the grid.
-
• #3681
I hope to god he does not. Although those rumors do seem to be gathering pace. sadface.jpg
Everyone at Williams hates him.
-
• #3682
I quite like him. He's the closest we've got to Senna on the grid. Not got as much talent obviously, but he's got that punching Eddie Irvine, crashing into Prost, whinging, thing Senna had.
Need more feisty South Americans, less soft ones like Massa.

You are comparing Maldonado to Senna..............................................................
Does not compute!
-
• #3684
He is nothing like Senna. Senna was clever. Very clever and in a different league as a driver talent.
When Maldonado arrived at Williams, the first word used to describe him to the team in a briefing was "simple".
Maldonado doesn't even listen to his engineers when they tell him to look after the tyres for example - he'll just drive like a nutter and ruin them in 3 laps. He doesn't care if he crashes, doesn't even apologize to the team for wrecking the car, he just thinks because he brings in the money he can do what he likes. He is way too hot headed and immature, has a bad temper in and out of the car... I could go on.
-
• #3685
Are you old enough to have seen Senna? It was moan, moan, moan constantly if he didn't get his way. I said Maldonado doesn't have Senna's talent, but at least won't sulk and act all pissy like Hamilton, who had the talent, but has fucked up with his famous girlfriend, R&B lifestyle shit.

Plenty old enough thanks.
^ Still no similarities between Senna and Maldonado.

edit: If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

I was going to say, before you conveniently edited your post, that it's nice that you've resorted to childish insults on the internet.
So I'm glad you've taken your own advice with your edit.Even so, I'm pretty sure I am much better placed than you to judge Maldonado's character.

Reports that the Quantum deal with Lotus is now done.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/111124?
Kimi has been paid, Lotus will clear all their debts and will now almost definitely sign Hulkenburg to drive next year.
Been waiting for this deal to happen for months!! Good news at last!
Pretty good racing was going on today as well!

• #3692
Let's hope it does go ahead.
Good result for Di Resta; he'll be overtaking Button in the Driver's Championship soon.

I went to Yas Island.
Even though the WC has been decided, it was a great race.
Vettel really is something very special indeed.

Poo.
Kimi to miss the remaining last two races this year due to back surgery and recovery.
Reserve driver Davide Valsecchi to replace him.

Kimi to miss the remaining last two races this year due to stupid fucking team not fucking paying him.
Ftfy. Lotus never deserved him to start with.
-
• #3697
^ you can be excused for thinking that but the reality is rather different.
The Team are not to blame. It's the stupid fucking owners of the team who pull the purse strings. i.e Genii. They're the ones fucking things up. Kimi isn't the only Team member who hasn't been paid! Even though he has now been paid!
Lotus definitely deserved Kimi. They gave him a car good enough to give him a remarkable comeback.
The suspiscion is that since Kimi had his seat fit at Ferrari last week they probably 'persuaded' him not to race for Lotus so they have a fighting chance of holding on to 3rd in the Constructors Championship.

The whole way money is distributed in Formula 1 is fucked. Lotus are losing so much per year that it's ultimately unsustainable. I read that if Lotus do manage to finish second this year they'd get £10,000,000 less than if Ferrari were to finish there, due to the way certain teams are preferred.
Joe Saward posted on his blog last week that two teams are close to being wound up due to unpaid bills. Force India and Sauber still owe suppliers and Hulkenberg money.
The solution proposed by the big teams is to sell customer chassis (thus generating more cash for themselves), but this is opposed by Williams. I hope we don't end up with the 3 cars for Ferrari, Red Bull that was discussed a while back. It's all fucked.
Anyway, USA GP was great last year, roll on the weekend.

I can almost guarantee that this is the case.
Mind you, he had issues with his broccoli a few weeks ago. Unless that was a pre-cursor to these shenanigans.

Yeah. Kimi is a very clever man. He was most likely setting himself up for all eventualities. He does have a back problem though (and the car has been getting lower and lower recently). Ferrari probably told him to just get his back sorted and also slipped him a few million just to make it happen. It also means Kimi won't be in breech of contract (medical ground) so would still get paid any more outstading.
The whole money distribution in F1 is fucked, but so it is in almost every other industry in the World. The difference in prize payout not only depends on Championship position but the history of the team, number of Championships contended etc etc. However, Bernie still gets more $$$ from revenues than all the teams put together!
McLaren.
'Cos Whitmarsh is making a right bleedin' hash of it.
