Formala 1 is back in the USA. Nice up and down bits on the track.

Who would have thought that after this long Herman Tilke would have cottoned on to the fact that elevation changes make for a better racing circuit. I'd love to see an F1 car do the corkscrew at Laguna Seca.

It's done at all of the anti-clockwise circuits. Istambul, Sao Paulo, and the other one that I can't remember. People in the pitlane aren't used to seeing the cars coming from the right.

I've never heard it like that before. American H&S gone mad. As if you can't hear an F1 car coming anyway!!

It's just as loud as at the other anti-clockwise circuits, even at Interlagos where they aren't exactly H&S crazy.

Looks like the race will be interesting as they are starting to talk about the track surface being responsible for the lack of grip, not dust on the track.

I'm sure the track will rubber in but yeah it's going to be a very interesting race.

However their WCC position is still uncertain, though I guess Button isn't going to be scoring big.

That was the worst coverage of the start of a Grand Prix I've ever seen. Why the hell did someone think it would be a good idea to show it from the wrong direction?

This race has been brilliant. Second half of the season, when Red Bull found their pace, has been quite dull. This has been epic!

Congratulations to the people of Texas, for putting on an absolutely fantastic Formula 1 race. One of the best tracks I've seen for ages. Superb racing.

As for Mercedes; I've seen some of the pundits saying that Hamilton is heading to a struggling team, but I disagree. I think Ross Brawn has stopped all development on the car, and Mercedes are totally focussed on next year. Its not the first time Brawn has done that, and the last time he did that, he reaped his rewards.

Yeah I think they'll give him a good car next year. I don't think he'll be a front runner until the turbos come back in 2014 though. Hope I'm wrong
