3rd of the 15th month eh?

  • yep - fucking dates up, it's a the new black.

i did mean to indicate this Sunday. in march. on the 15th.

  • just to liven this thread up - we'll be riding around this area (this image was painted a while ago so i cannot be sure of its like-ness...). although the sun setting should be about the same.

  • What a beautiful painting. Would normally be up for doing this as its where I live, but can't make Sunday

      Im in.
  • Haha, before I fucked my hand up I did a very similar ride to this mostr weekends. There is a farm shop on ferny hill that dose really good coffee (if it is open that is). Unfortunatly I cant do this ride for a few weeks (due to fucked hand) but will meet people after at the flask.

  • Hope you are recovering well Andy.

  • Cheers, getting there. I am out of the splint most of the time and the hand is getting stronger. According to the physio I can ride a bike again in another 7 weeks. I am going for two. Light riding on the greared bike to begin with then comuting and riding round town in about three weeks.

  • I did a very similar ride to this mostr weekends. .

i must say all the ideas for this came from you andy - did hill ride that you sent up and stole the link from your post in routes database. see you at the pub afterwards - i hear guiness is good for healing wounds.!

Haha, I hope you enjoy the route then. There are some really nice roads just out of barnet. I am watching the Rugby first so I expect the Guiness will be flowing. See you at the flask.

  • Hmm, I am mighty tempted by this... assuming I get some stuff sorted I'm in.

  • that sound lovely! might be up for it if I am awake by then and not to exhausted from the night ride....

  • i might be in for this, is it really hilly?

  • i would say - yes, there are hills on the ride. really hilly...well that's depends on what your are accustomed to. by london standards, it is very hilly but by the 'tuesday night ride' standards this is a doddle. i've never done it before so i'm just guessing :)

but we will be waiting for everyone at the top of each hill and actively giving encouragement along the way e.g. 'think of the beer' 'concentrate on the beer' 'there is beer at the top of the hill'...

  • alright count me in then,

  • cool route, especially since it starts and finishes in throwing distance of my front door.

this sunday might be tricky bit if you're thinking of making it regular, count me in for future rides.

good choice of the Flask, too, for afters-ales and grub. LOVE the idea of lots of anarcho-punk fixed wheelers gate-crashing the no.1 Sunday lunch venue of Merc-driving, Rolex-wearing Highgate & Hampstead high-rollers.

    nice!

  • I see a theme emerging - a pleasant Sunday drive in the countryside pretending we are driving mercs with the family in the back-seat ending with a lovely pub meal. The reality however is grinding up some hills, riding minimalist bikes, then drinking far too much in the pub afterwards smelling of sweat and grease.
